Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi dampak kehadiran pengunjung terhadap populasi dan habitat rusa timor di Penangkaran Rusa Universitas Lampung, serta mengevaluasi efektivitas teknologi tagging dalam pemantauan individu rusa. Penelitian dilakukan di Penangkaran Rusa Universitas Lampung pada bulan September 2024 sampai dengan November 2024. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif melalui observasi langsung, wawancara terhadap 30 orang pengunjung, serta dokumentasi proses tagging. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kehadiran pengunjung memengaruhi perilaku kewaspadaan dan interaksi sosial rusa, meskipun masih dalam batas toleransi. Sebagian besar pengunjung memiliki kesadaran terhadap pentingnya konservasi, namun tetap diperlukan peningkatan edukasi dan aturan yang lebih jelas. Teknologi tagging yang diterapkan pada sepuluh ekor rusa, empat rusa timor di Penangkaran Rusa Unila (belakang FP Unila) dan lima ekor rusa totol di Penangkaran Rusa Lab. Lapang Terpadu Unila, terbukti efektif dalam memantau kesehatan dan perilaku individu. Data fisiologis yang dikumpulkan melalui tagging menjadi dasar penting bagi strategi pengelolaan dan konservasi jangka panjang. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menjadi kontribusi ilmiah dalam upaya pelestarian rusa timor sekaligus meningkatkan kesadaran publik mengenai konservasi satwa liar di lingkungan penangkaran.  Kata kunci: rusa timor, pengunjung, penangkaran, tagging, perilaku satwa    Indonesia is a country with high biodiversity, including the existence of the timor deer (Cervus timorensis) which is now vulnerable according to the IUCN. This study aims to identify the impact of visitor presence on the population and habitat of timor deer in Lampung University Deer Breeding, and evaluate the effectiveness of tagging technology in monitoring individual deer. The research was conducted at the University of Lampung Deer Breeding Center from September 2024 to November 2024. The method used was descriptive qualitative through direct observation, interviews with 30 visitors, and documentation of the tagging process. The results showed that the presence of visitors affected the vigilance behavior and social interactions of deer, although still within the limits of tolerance. Most visitors have an awareness of the importance of conservation, but more education and clearer rules are needed. Tagging technology applied to ten deer, four timor deer in Unila Deer Breeding (behind FP Unila) and five totol deer in Lab Deer Breeding. Unila's Integrated Field Laboratory, proved effective in monitoring individual health and behavior. Physiological data collected through tagging provides an important basis for long-term management and conservation strategies. This research is expected to be a scientific contribution to the efforts of timor deer conservation while increasing public awareness of wildlife conservation in a captive environment.
