River water quality can undergo changes influenced by human activities. The Bako River is a river that passes through densely populated settlements. Increased human activity, changes in land use patterns, and the increasingly diverse lifestyle of people who produce domestic waste make the pollutant load in the river increase. The purpose of this study was to determine the Water Quality Index (the WA River is an NQI) based on physical, chemical, and biological parameters. Sampling points were in the Bako River upstream, middle, and downstream of the river. We analyzed the water samples using eight parameters: pH, DO, BOD, COD, TSS, nitrate, T-phosphate, and Escherichia coli. Based on the results of the calculation of the Pollution Index (IP), Bako River at the 3 research stations is lightly polluted with an IP value at station 1 of 2.075, station 2 of 2.075, and station 3 of 2.376. The results of the Water Quality Index Analysis (IKA) on the Bako River are moderately polluted, with an IKA value of 50. Keywords: Water Quality Index, Water Quality, Bako River.} }
