AGROINDUSTRI UNTUK DIKEMBANGKAN DI
KABUPATEN LAMPUNG SELATANABSTRACT
Agroindustry has an important role in the district area. Lampung Selatan has
many area that had potency as agroindustry so, it need to do potential analysis and
determination strategy of Agroindustry area on Lampung Selatan. The aims of
this research was to analysis the potential area through potential commodity on
South Lampung District, to determine potential area that a would be develop as a
agroindustry area on South Lampung, and to do strategy analysis to develop
agroindustry area on South Lampung. This research method that be used was
survey method and discussion with the experts. Analysis that was done by
Location Quotion analysis (LQ), exponential comparative evaluation analysis
(MPE), and SWOT analysis.
The results showed that (1) the Ketibung Sub-District has the highest potential
area in South Lampung District according to the potential commodities (17
commodities, with the top five commodities is cucumber, long bean, chili, durian,
pepper), followed by Merbau Mataran Sub-District with 14 commodities, the top
five commodities is cucumber, long bean, cocoa, durian, sweet potato, the third
highest place, Penegahan Sub-District with 14 commodities and buffalo, chili,

long bean, manggo, and rubber as the top five commodities, all data were done by
LQ analysis; (2) Ketibung Sub-District (3818) showed the highest potential
agroindustrial area compared to Merbau Mataram Sub-District (2611), and Way
Sulan Sub-District (3368), respectively and all data were done by MPE analysis;
(3) The strategy to develop agro-industrial area in South Lampung District was
observed by SWOT analysis. The strategy to develop agroindustrial area as
follows: (a) improve the quality of agricultural materials, (b) develop a better
human resources, (c) improve product diversities, (d) improve market
opportunities and access, and (e) improve infrastructure and transportation.
