QUENCHING AIR DAN OLI TERHADAP STRUKTUR MIKRO DAN NILAI
KEKERASAN BAJA PEGAS DAUN AISI 6135Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh heat treatment dengan variasi
media quenching air dan oli terhadap struktur mikro dan nilai kekerasan baja pegas
daun AISI 6135. Sampel yang digunakan yaitu baja pegas daun yang kemudian
dilakukan quench-temper. Analisis yang dilakukan meliputi uji komposisi kimia,
kekerasan, dan struktur mikro. Proses heat treatment diawali dengan pemanasan awal
pada suhu 600 C dengan waktu tahan 30 menit, dilanjutkan pemanasan pada suhu
austenisasi (hardening) yaitu 800 C dengan waktu tahan selama 60 menit setelah itu
dilakukan quenching menggunakan 100% air dan campuran 50% air : 50% oli. Proses
akhir, yaitu temperingpada temperatur 600 C selama 40 menit. Hasil uji komposisi
kimia menunjukkan bahwa baja pegas daun yang digunakan tergolong chromvanadium
steel. Pengujian kekerasan dilakukan menggunakan metode
Rockwelldengan hasil kekerasan untuk raw material yaitu 42,18 HRc, untuk sampel
hasil quench-temper 100% air 36,6 HRc dan sampel hasilquench-temper campuran
air dan oli 34,99 HRc. Nilai kekerasan yang menurun dibuktikan dengan struktur
mikro quench-temper yang terbentuk fasa martensit temper dan ferit, sedangkan fasa
perlit dan ferit terdapat pada raw material.

This research was conducted to determine the effect of heat treatment with a variety
of water and oil quenching media to microstructure and hardness values of leaf spring
steel AISI 6135. The sample used is steel leaf springs are then carried quenchtempered.
Analysis was conducted on the chemical compositio, hardness, and
microstructure. Heat treatment begins with preheating at 600° C with a holding time
of 30 minutes, followed by heating at a temperature austenisasi (hardening) is 800° C
witha holding time of 60 after it is done quenching using 100% water and mixture of
50% water : 50% oil. Finally process that is temperingusing a temperature of 600° C
for 40 minutes. The test results show that the chemical composition of the steel leaf
springs that used relatively chrom-vanadium steel. Tests carried out using the method
of Rockwell hardness, with a hardness results for the raw material that is 42,18HRc,
for a sample of the quench-tempered 100% water 36,6HRc and quench-tempered mix
of water and oil 34,99HRc. Hardness value decreased evidenced by the quenchtempered
microstructure formed tempered martensite phase and ferrite, pearlite and
ferrite phase while contained in the raw material.
