HIDROKSIBENZOAT SEBAGAI INHIBITOR KOROSI PADA BAJA
LUNAK DALAM DMSO-HClTelah dilakukan sintesis senyawa trifeniltimah(IV) hidroksibenzoat dengan
mereaksikan ligan 2-hidroksi dan 4-hidroksibenzoat dengan trifeniltimah(IV)
hidroksida dalam larutan metanol. Persen hasil sintesis senyawa trifeniltimah(IV)
2-hidroksibenzoat dan trifeniltimah(IV) 4-hidroksibenzoat adalah 79,77 dan
89,66%. Senyawa tersebut dikarakterisasi menggunakan teknik spektroskopi infra
merah (IR), ultra ungu, dan analisis unsur. Besarnya inhibisi trifeniltimah(IV) 2-
hidroksibenzoat dan trifeniltimah(IV) 4-hidroksibenzoat pada korosi baja lunak
dalam DMSO-HCl dikaji dengan polarisasi potensiodinamik. Hal tersebut
menunjukkan bahwa senyawa trifeniltimah(IV) 2-hidroksibenzoat dan
trifeniltimah(IV) 4-hidroksibenzoat merupakan inhibitor korosi yang bagus untuk
perlindungan baja lunak. Tingginya efisiensi inhibisi berhubungan dengan efek
pengeblokan sederhana melalui adsorpsi molekul inhibitor pada permukaan baja
lunak. Nilai persen efisiensi inhibisi (EI) tertinggi senyawa trifeniltimah(IV) 2-
hidroksibenzoat adalah 58,52 dan trifeniltimah(IV) 4-hidroksibenzoat adalah
61,72% pada konsentrasi 100 ppm.

abstract
The synthesis of triphenyltin(IV) hydroxibenzoates were performed by reacting
ligands of 2-hydroxy and 4-hydroxibenzoic acid with triphenyltin(IV) hydroxide
in methanol solution. The percentage yiels of the compounds synthesized
triphenyltin(IV) 2-hydroxibenzoate and triphenyltin(IV) 4-hydroxibenzoate were
79,77 and 89,66%, respectively. These compounds were well characterized by
spectroscopy techniques of infra red (IR), ultraviolet (UV), as well as based on
microelemental analyzer. The inhibition activity of triphenyltin(IV) 2-
hydroxibenzoate and triphenyltin(IV) 4-hydroxibenzoate on mild steel corrosion
in DMSO-HCl were studied with potentiodynamic polarization method. The
results showed that the triphenyltin(IV) 2-hydroxibenzoate and triphenyltin(IV) 4-
hydroxibenzoate act as good corrosion inhibitors for mild steel protection. The
high inhibition efficiency were attributed to the simple blocking effect by
adsorption of inhibitor molecules on the steel surface. The high percentage
efficiency inhibition (EI) values for the triphenyltin(IV) 2-hydroxibenzoate was
58,52 and triphenyltin(IV) 4-hydroxibenzoate was 61,72% at concentration of 100
ppm.
