A study of the heavy metal content of Pb, Zn, and Hg in long jawed mackerel,
yellowstripe scad, and fish float was obtained from the Semaka Bay coast.
Sampling of fish is done by purposive random sampling method in 3 (three)
locations in the waters of Semaka Bay. Samples taken from each location
consisted of 3 types of fish. Samples of long jawed mackerel, yellowstripe scad,
and fish float are fish that are often consumed by the local community. The results
of the analysis of the three samples (long jawed mackerel, yellowstripe scad, and
fish float) showed that the Pb metal content was between 0,173-0,279 ppm, the Zn
metal was between 60,528-68,15 ppm, the Hg metal was 0,0282-0,0299 ppm.
Based on the analysis of the three samples showed that the levels of Pb, Zn, and
Hg are still below the safe limit set by US-EPA for Pb metal that is 1,5 ppm and
Zn metal that is 150 ppm, and RI BPOM for Hg metal is 0,5 ppm.
