LADA SECARA IN VITROAbstrak
Intensifnya budidaya tanaman lada tidak terlepas dari berbagai gangguan dalam
kegiatan produksi. Salah satunya adalah serangan jamur P. capsici Leon. yang
mengakibatkan penyakit Busuk Pangkal Batang Lada (BPBL). Penelitian ini
bertujuan untuk mengkaji formulasi dan masa simpan T. harzianum dalam
menghambat P. Capsici penyebab penyakit busuk pangkal batang lada secara in
vitro. Hipotesis yang diajukan adalah formulasi dan masa simpan T. harzianum
akan berpengaruh terhadap populasi dan kemampuan antagonistik T. harzianum
dalam menghambat jamur patogen P. capsici penyebab penyakit busuk pangkal
batang lada secara in vitro. Penelitian ini telah dilaksanakan di Laboratorium
Penyakit Tanaman, Jurusan Proteksi Tanaman, Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas
Lampung pada bulan Agustus sampai Desember 2009. Perlakuan terdiri dari masa
simpan (2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12 minggu) dan perlakuan formulasi (Pelet, Cair, Serbuk).
Perlakuan disusun secara faktorial dalam rancangan acak lengkap dengan tiga
ulangan. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan sidik ragam dan dilanjutkan dengan
Uji BNT pada taraf nyata 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) formulasi
dan masa simpan berpengaruh nyata terhadap populasi dan aktifitas antagonistik
T. harzianum dalam menghambat P. capsici secara in vitro, namun interaksi
antara keduanya tidak nyata, (2) pada perlakuan formulasi, populasi T. harzianum
tertinggi terdapat pada formulasi cair (5,56 x 103 cfu) dan pada perlakuan masa
simpan, kepadatan populasi T. harzianum tertinggi pada masa simpan 8 minggu
(5,56 x 103 cfu), dan (3) kemampuan antagnositik T. harzianum paling baik
terdapat pada formulasi cair dengan kemampuan antagonistik tertinggi (64,89%),
kemudian formulasi serbuk (51,11%), dan tidak ada aktifitas antagonistik pada
formulasi pelet (0%) setelah masa simpan 12 minggu.

Abstract
Intensive cultivation of pepper plants could not be separated from the various
disturbances in production activities. Among the various disturbance were a
fungus attack of P. capsici Leon. that causes basal stem rot disease (BPBL). This
research aimed to evaluate the formulation and saving period of T. harzianum in
inhibiting P. capsici the causal agent of stem rot disease of pepper in vitro. The
hypothesis of the study were the formulation and saving period of T. harzianum
will affect the population and antagonistic activity of T. harzianum in inhibiting
the pathogenic fungi P. capsici the causal agent of stem rot disease of pepper in
vitro.This research was conducted in the Plant Pathology Laboratory, Department
of Plant Protection, Faculty of Agriculture, Lampung University on August to
December 2009. Treatments consisted of saving period (2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12 weeks)
and formulations treatment (Pellets, Liquid, Powder). The factorial experiment
was arranged in completely randomized design with three replications. Data were
analyzed with ANOVA followed by LSD test at 5% significance level. The result
showed that (1) formulation and saving period significantly affected the
population and antagonistic activity of T. harzianum in inhibiting P. capsici by in
vitro, but the interaction between them is not real, (2) in the treatment of
formulation, the highest populaton of T. harzianum contained in liquid
formulations (5.56 x 103 cfu) and in the saving period treatment, the highest
population density of T. harzianum were in 8 week of saving period (5.56 x 103
cfu), and (3) the best antagonistic ability of T. harzianum were showed in liquid
formulation with the highest antagonistic ability (64.89%), then the powder
formulation of T. harzianum (51.11%), and no antagonistic activity on the
formulation of pellets (0%) after 12 weeks of saving period.
