konsentrasi optimum. Adsorpsi metilen biru pada AAF, AAK optimum pada pH
11 dengan waktu kontak masing-masing 60 dan 90 menit.. Isoterm adsorpsi
metilen biru AAK dan AAF cenderung mengikuti model isoterm Freundlich
(interaksi fisika) dengan R2 = 0,999, dengan kapasitas adsorpsi masing-masing ion
sebesar 20,620 ; 22,424 mg/g.

abstract
This research studies purposed is to made the utilization of CPO (Crude Palm
Oil) from the industrial factory waste into an activated charcoal as an adsorbent
of blue methylene. The experiment was started with the carbonization and
continued with activating of the charcoal by physically and chemically. The
activated charcoal which resulted from the activating process was characterized
by Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) to determine the surface morphology,
spectrophotometric IR was used to knowed about its functional groups, and the
surjace area analytion tool with BET methode. The adsorption tests of the
activated charcoal in adsorbing blue methylene were performed by the batch
method including the determination of a pH, contact time and optimum
concentration. The blue methylene adsorption on the physically and chemically
activated charcoal is optimum value at a pH 11 with a contact time of 60 and 90
minutes. The blue methylene adsorption on the physically and chemically
activated charcoal isotherm leads to followed Freundlich’s isotherm model
(physical interaction) with R2 value = 0,999 and the adsorption capacity of each
other ion was 20,620 ; 22.425 mg/g
