14 L/menit kekuatan tarik sebesar 58,55 Mpa. Semakin rendah laju alir gas
aluminium semakin mengecil.

Shielded electrode arc welding defects occurred that due to oxidation and
impurity. To overcome those weaknesses in the shielded electrode arc welding
therefore TIG welding should be used. TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) is an arc welding
proces in which the electric flame generated by the tungsten electrode (non
consumable electrode). The purpose of this research is to determine the effect of
argon protective gas flow rate in tig welding (tungsten inert gas) on micro
structure and strength of welding results in aluminum 5052. In this research, the
type of protective gas used is argon gas, the protective gas flow rate used is 12 L /
min and 14 L / min. The electrodes used are pure tengsten with a diameter of 2.4
mm, the current used is 70 A and 90 A. The material used in this research is
aluminum 5052 with a single V type, test used is a tensile test and microstructure
with reference to ASTME -8 test standards. Test conducted by the tensile test
where the average test results are on a variation of protective gas flow rate 12 L /
min tensile strength of 61.75 Mpa and the variation of protective gas flow rate 14
L/ min tensile strength of 58.55 Mpa. The lower the protective gas flow rate and
welding current, the grain size in the weld area, the aluminum HAZ decreases.
