ANTIKOROSI SENYAWA TURUNAN ORGANOTIMAH(IV) BENZOAT
TERHADAP BAJA LUNAK DALAM MEDIUM KOROSIF NAClPada penelitian ini telah dilakukan sintesis senyawa difeniltimah(IV) dibenzoat
dan trifeniltimah(IV) benzoat dengan cara mereaksikan senyawa awal
difeniltimah(IV) oksida dan trifeniltimah(IV) hidroksida dengan asam benzoat
sebagai ligannya. Kedua senyawa yang diperoleh berupa serbuk berwarna putih
dengan rendemen masing-masing 89,49% dan 83,51%. Senyawa hasil sintesis
telah divalidasi dengan spektrofotometer IR, UV-Vis dan microelemental analyzer.
Senyawa hasil sintesis selanjutnya diuji aktivitas antikorosinya terhadap baja
lunak dalam medium korosif larutan NaCl dengan metode potensiodinamik
menggunakan instrumentasi ER410 Integrated Potensiostat System eDAQ. Hasil
pengujian menggunakan metode potensiodinamik menunjukkan bahwa senyawa
difeniltimah(IV) dibenzoat dan trifeniltimah(IV) benzoat memiliki kemampuan
yang baik dalam menghambat proses korosi yang terjadi pada baja lunak dengan
nilai persentase inhibisi tertinggi masing-masing 77,4% dan 79,79% pada
konsentrasi 100 mg/L serta nilai laju korosi sebesar 1,37 Rmpy dan 1,26 Rmpy.

abstract
In this research, the synthesis of diphenyltin(IV) dibenzoate and triphenyltin(IV)
benzoate have been performed by the reaction between diphenyltin(IV) oxide and
triphenyltin(IV) hydroxide with benzoic acid as a ligand. Both of the compounds
were produced as white solid with the yield of 89.49% and 83.51%, respectively. The
yields were validated using infrared, UV-Vis spectroscopies and microelemental
analyzer. The compounds synthesized were tested of the corrosion activity towards
hot roller plate (HRP) mild steel in the corrosive medium of NaCl by
potentiodynamic method using ER410 Integrated Potensiostat System eDAQ. The
result showed that diphenyltin(IV) dibenzoate and triphenyltin(IV) benzoate have
good ability to prevent corrosion process on the mild steel with the highest
percentage of inhibition at concentration at 100 mg/L were 77.4% and 79.79% and
the rate of corrosion were 1,37 Rmpy and 1,26 Rmpy, respectively.
