DENGAN KADAR PROTEIN BERBEDA TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN
JUVENIL IKAN COBIA Rachycentron canadum (Linnaeus, 1766)
YANG DI PELIHARA PADA BAK TERKONTROL
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh pemberian pakan komersial
dengan kadar protein berbeda terhadap pertumbuhan juvenil ikan cobia
(Rachycentron canadum). Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan ialah rancangan
acak lengkap (RAL) dengan tiga perlakuan dan satu kontrol, masing-masing terdiri
dari tiga ulangan. Pakan perlakuan kontrol menggunakan ikan segar (kuniran),
sedangkan P1, P2 dan P3 menggunakan pakan komersial yang mengandung protein
46%, 44%, dan 38%. Juvenil cobia dengan berat rata-rata 33,81 g dan panjang ratarata 20,07 cm dipelihara di bak fiber bervolume 1,5 m3
dengan padat tebar 50
ekor/bak selama 45 hari. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pemberian pakan komersial
dengan kadar protein berbeda berpengaruh terhadap pertumbuhan berat mutlak, laju
pertumbuhan harian, RKP dan retensi protein ikan. Berat mutlak (124,78 ± 3,00 g),
laju pertumbuhan harian (3,42 ± 0,16 %/hari), dan rasio konversi pakan (0,97 ±
0,04) dari perlakuan P2 signifikan lebih baik dibandingkan perlakuan P1 dan P3.
Perbedaan tidak terlihat pada panjang mutlak, dan tingkat kelangsungan hidup
diantara ketiga jenis pakan komersil. Retensi protein tertinggi berasal dari
pemberian pakan berprotein 44% yang mampu melampaui nilai retensi protein dari
pemberian pakan berupa ikan segar. Sehingga pakan yang diberikan pada perlakuan
P2 (protein 44%) efektif digunakan untuk mendukung pertumbuhan juvenil ikan
cobia.

The aim of this study was to analyze the influence of commercial feed with different
protein levels to growth of cobia juvenile (Rachycentron canadum). Completely
randomized design (CRD) was used for this research with three treatments and one
control, each treatment consisted of three replications. Control used fresh fish
(kuniran), while P1, P2 and P3 used commercial feed with protein 46%, 44%, and
38%. Cobia with initial weight of 33,81 g and length of 20,07 cm were cultured in
1,5 m3
tank with density of 50 fish per tank for 45 days. Result of research showed
that commercial feed with different protein levels were significantly affected to
absolute weight, daily growth rate, FCR and fish protein retention. Absolute weight
(124,78 ± 3,00 g), daily growth rate (3,42 ± 0,16 %/day), and FCR (0,97 ± 0,04) of
P2 better than P1 and P3, but for absolute length and survival rate were not
significantly different. The highest protein retention of this study was P2. So that
P2 (protein 44%) became the most effective commercial feed to support growth of
cobia juvenile.
