Abstrak (Berisi Bastraknya saja, Judul dan Nama Tidak Boleh di Masukan)
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan motivasi dan aktivitas belajar siswa dengan menggunakan pendekatan Contextual Teaching And Learning (CTL) yang berorientasi pada Life Skill dalam pembelajaran Geografi kelas XI IPS2 SMA Muhammadiyah I Purbolinggo Tahun Pelajaran 2012/2013. Penelitian ini merupakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas. Penelitian ini pada setiap siklusnya terdiri atas perencanan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi dan refleksi. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI IPS2 yang berjumlah 37 siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu angket, observasi dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan motivasi dan aktivitas belajar siswa pada setiap siklusnya. Pada siklus I persentase motivasi dan aktivitas belajar siswa belum mencapai kriteria yang ditentukan. Pada siklus II persentase motivasi dan aktivitas belajar siswa mengalami peningkatan dibandingkan siklus I tetapi belum mencapai kriteria yang ditentukan. Pada siklus III persentase motivasi dan aktivitas belajar siswa mengalami peningkatan dibandingkan siklus II dan peningkatannya sudah mencapai kriteria yang ditentukan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut, bahwa penerapan pendekatan Contextual Teaching And Learning (CTL) yang berorientasi pada Life Skill dapat meningkatkan motivasi dan aktivitas belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran geografi kelas XI IPS2 semester genap di SMA muhammadiyah I Purbolinggo tahun pelajaran 2012/2013. Kata Kunci : CTL, Motivasi Belajar, Aktivitas Belajar The research aimed to increase students’ motivation and learning activity by using Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) approach that oriented to Life Skill in Geography learning of class XI IPS2 of SMA Muhammadiyah I Purbolinggo Academic Year 2012/2013. This research was Classroom Action Research. This research in each parts consisted of planning, actuating treatments, observation and reflection. The population in this research were the students of class XI2 that consisted of 37 students. The data collecting technique used were questionnaire, observation, documentation. The data analysis technique was descriptive analysis. The result showed thatthere was an increase on students’ motivation and learning activities in each cycles. In cycle I the percentage of students’ motivation and learning had not yet reached the expected criteria. In cycle II the percentage of students’ motivation and learning had increased compared to the preceding cycle but had not yet reached the expected criteria. In cycle III the percentage of students’ motivation and learning had increased compared to the preceding cycle and that increase had reached the expected criteria. Based on the research discussion, that the learning by using Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) approach that oriented to Life Skill could Increase Students’ Motivation and Learning Activity in Geography subject of Class XI2 Even Semester of SMA Muhammadiyah I Purbolinggo Academic Year 2012/2013.
