The powder preparation process was performed by mechanical alloying method with various addatives compositions of 0, 2 and 10 %weight. The α-Fe2O3 and FeMn powder were mixed using High Energy Milling (HEM) for an hour. The milled samples were calcined at 900, 1000 and 1100 °C with an hour of holding time. The samples were charaterized using Particle Size Analyzer (PSA), true density by Archimedes’s Method, X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) and also Vibrating Sample Magnetometer (VSM). The results show a decreased of particle size distribution which around 4.30-4.77 μm and an increase in true density of 3.12-5.11 g/cm3 as the FeMn composition increase. PSA results show that samples are heterogenous and XRD results show that the raw material contains single phase α-Fe2O3 and the additive material contains FeO3MnO7. After being calcinated, the phases changed into Fe, Fe2MnO4, MnO2 and Fe3O4 for hematite powder with additives FeMn 0 and 2 %weight. VSM results show that coercivity around 235.41-1009 Oe and loop area around 6-194.8 kOe.emu/g. The best condition were achived at material with 2% FeMn using 1000 °C for calcination which the koercivity value is 235.41 Oe and loop area value is 184.8 kOe.emu/g. Recording to these results, hematie powder with additive FeMn put out to be a soft magnetic material. Key words: Soft Magnetic, Hematit, Ferro Manganese, Calcination
