Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran TSTS dibandingkan dengan siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran konvensional. Desain yang digunakan adalah pretest posttest control group design. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMPN 12 Bandar Lampung Tahun Pelajaran 2013/2014 yang terdistribusi dalam sembilan kelas. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII F dan VIII G yang diambil dengan teknik purposive random sampling. Data penelitian diperoleh melalui tes kemampuan komunikasi matematis. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah metode pembelajaran kooperatif TSTS tidak efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa. This research aimed to know the increasing of mathematical communication skills of students who followed TSTS learning compared to conventional learning. The design which was used in this research was pretest-posttest control group design. The population of this research was all students of grade 8th of SMPN 12 Bandarlampung in academic year of 2013/2014 that was distributed into nine classes. The samples of this research were students of VIII F and VIII G class which were taken by purposive random sampling technique. The research data were obtained by the test of mathematical communication skill. The conclusion of this research was cooperative learning model of TSTS was not effective to increase students mathematical communication skill.
