Abstrak (Berisi Bastraknya saja, Judul dan Nama Tidak Boleh di Masukan)

This research aimed to (1) describe the potential and the conditions of mathematics instructional materials used in junior high school in Tulang Bawang Barat regency, (2) develop mathematics module that could increase students’ learning result, (3) test the effectiveness of module which was developed in associated with the increase of students mathematics learning result, (4) test the efficiency of module which was developed in associated with the increase of students’ mathematics learning result, and (5) test the attractiveness of module which was developed in associated with the students mathematics learning result. The approach used the research and the development of Borg and Gall. This research was conducted at Junior High School 1 Lambu Kibang, Junior High School 1 Tumijajar, and Junior High School 1 Tulang Bawang Udik, in Tulang Bawang Barat regency. The data collecting technique used questionnaire and test. The analysis used descriptive method and t-test. The conclusion of the research are : (1) Junior high school in Tulang Bawang Barat regency which is potential to develop the module,that is characterized by the absence of the module as n instructional materials in mathematic learning and the books used cannot support the goal of mathematics, (2) the product of instructional mathematic module of statistics, (3) the module is effective to be used as teaching material since there are more than 60% students are complete in learning, (4) the module is efficient to be used since the time used is less, with the efficiency score 1,25, (5) the module of mathematics in statistic material is attractive for the students, with average percentage 87,3%. Key words : instructional materials, module, statistics. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah (1) mendeskripsikan potensi dan kondisi bahan ajar matematika yang digunakan di SMP di kabupaten Tulang Bawang Barat, (2) mengembangkan modul matematika yang dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa, (3) menguji efektifitas modul yang dikembangkan dikaitkan dengan peningkatan hasil belajar matematika siswa, (4) menguji efisiensi modul yang dikembangkan dikaitkan dengan peningkatan hasil belajar matematika siswa, dan (5) menguji daya tarik modul yang dikembangkan dikaitkan dengan peningkatan hasil belajar matematika siswa. Pendekatan menggunakan penelitian dan pengembangan Borg and Gall. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMPN 1 Lambu Kibang, SMPN 1 Tumijajar, dan SMPN 1 Tulang Bawang Udik, di kabupaten Tulang Bawang Barat. Pengumpulan data menggunakan angket dan tes. Dianalisis secara deskriptif dan uji-t. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah (1) SMP di kabupaten Tulang Bawang Barat berpotensi untuk pengembangan modul, yang ditandai dengan belum adanya modul sebagai bahan ajar dalam pembelajaran matematika dan buku yang digunakan selama ini tidak mendukung tercapainya tujuan mata pelajaran matematika, (2) produk pengembangan berupa bahan ajar modul matematika materi statistika, (3) modul efektif digunakan sebagai bahan ajar karena lebih dari 60% siswa tuntas belajar, (4) modul efisien digunakan karena waktu yang digunakan lebih sedikit, dengan nilai efisiensi 1,25, (5) modul matematika materi statistika menarik bagi siswa, dengan rata-rata persentase 87,3%. Kata kunci: bahan ajar, modul, statistika.
