Abstract
ABSTRAK Film merupakan sebuah hasil kreasi dari sebuah adat kebudayaan dan agama, yang banyak memberikan pesan moral serta pelajaran bagi penontonnya. Film berperan penting dalam penyampaian pesan secara luas dalam hubungan komunikasi, maka film dianggap efektif dalam menyampaikan nilai-nilai budaya dan agama yang harus dilestarikan. Salah satu film yang mampu memaparkan nilai-nilai dalam unsur agama dan budaya secara baik adalah film Soegija yang disutradarai oleh Garin Nugroho. Penelitian pada film Soegija ini dilakukan untuk melihat bentuk representasi nilai-religi religi dan budaya yang berfokus pada cuplikan gambar, adegan dan dialog dengan menggunakan analisis hermeneutika untuk menemukan makna-makna yang tersirat dalam film ini. Kesimpulan dalam penelitian ini, yaitu unsur agama dalam film Soegija terlihat melalui tata cara beribadah, berpenampilan dan ketaatan umat Katolik dalam hukum sosial agama, serta pesan-pesan moral yang disampaikan Romo Soegija. Unsur budaya dalam film ini, dapat dilihat melalui latar belakang tokoh, bahasa dalam berdialog, kesenian dan simbol kebudayaan. Kata Kunci : nilai religi, nilai budaya, film, hermeneutika, Soegija ABSTRACT Film is a result of the creation of an indigenous culture and religion, which has provided a moral as well as a lesson for the audience. The film plays an important role in the delivery of the message widely in communication links, then the film is considered effective in conveying the values of culture and religion that must be preserved. One film that is able to explain the values of the elements of religionand culture in good way was Soegija movie directed by Garin Nugroho. Research on Soegija movie is already finished to look at the representation of value-religious forms of religion and culture which focuses on the footage, scenes and dialogue by using hermeneutic analysis to find the meanings implicit in this movie. The conclusion of this study, that religious elements in the film Soegija visible through the ordinances of worship, and observance of Catholics dressed in religious social laws, and moral messages are delivered by Romo Soegija. Cultural elements in this film, it can be seen through the background of the characters, the language in the dialogue, the arts and cultural symbols.
