ABSTRACT SURVIVAL ANALYSIS ON THE REGRESSION COX PROPORTIONAL HAZARD MODEL BY USING THE BRESLOW METHOD AND EFRON METHOD BY DELA KORNELIA VIANDA Survival analysis is a statistical method for analyzing survival time data from the start of the study (time origin/start point) to the time of occurrence of an event or end point. In the health sector, hypertension data was obtained from the patients who were observed and recorded the time of occurrence of each individual event. This study aims to apply the cox proportional hazard regression model to cooccurrence using two methods, namely the Breslow method and the Efron method in cases of hypertensive patient and to determine the factors that affect the recovery rate of hypertensive patients at Wisma Rini Pringsewu Hospital in 2020. There are six variables that used in this study, namely age, gender, complications of diabetes mellitus, heart, stroke, and kidney. Cox proportional hazard regression was used because it did not depend on the assumed distribution of the time of occurrence. Based on the selection of the best model with backward elimination and the Akaike Information Criterion (AIC) criteria, the best model is the onevariable model, which is stroke complications. This variable is a factor that affect the length of stay of patients. Stroke complications have a recovery rate of 5.213 times longer than patients who do not experience stroke complications.
