Abstrak (Berisi Bastraknya saja, Judul dan Nama Tidak Boleh di Masukan)
Kompetensi komunikasi dalam perkawinan antar etnik sangat dibutuhkan untuk memudahkan mereka dalam beradaptasi dan berinteraksi dengan keluarga dan lingkungan sekitar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1). Mengetahui bagaimana kompetensi komunikasi yang terjadi dalam perkawinan antar etnik di Kelurahan Desa Margasari Kecamatan Labuhan Maringgai Kabupaten Lampung Timur, (2). Mengetahui bagaimana komunikasi yang terjadi dalam keluarga. Tipe penelitian dalam penelitian ini adalah tipe penelitian kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data diperoleh melalui observasi, wawancara mendalam dan dokumentasi dengan informan sebanyak 6 pasangan yang menikah antaretnik Bugis dan etnik Jawa Serang. Adapun teori yang mendukung dalam penelitian ini adalah teori kompetensi komunikasi. Dengan mengunakan teori Kompetensi Komunikasi, hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa: (1). Dilihat dari pengetahuan, etnik Bugis mengetahui dan memahami bahasa dari pasangannya (etnik Jawa Serang). (2). Sedangkan dari motivasi menunjukkan bahwa keenam informan menikah karena saling menyukai dan tidak ada paksaan ataupun dijodohkan oleh kedua orang tua. (3). Dan dilihat dari keterampilan (skill), etnik Bugis memiliki kemampuan berkomunikasi menggunakan bahasa etnik Jawa serang. Namun etnik Jawa serang kurang memahami bahasa dari etnik Bugis. Communication competence in inter-ethnic marriages is necessary to facilitate them adapt and to interact with the family and surrounding environment. The purposes of this study are to find out: (1). How is the form of communication competence that occurs in the inter-ethnic marriage at the village of Margasari, Labuhan Maringgai, District of Eastern Lampung, (2). How is the communication that occurs within the family. The type of research that used in this study is the qualitative research type. Data collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and also documentation with informants which are 6 couples who did inter-ethnic marriages,. Theory behind this research is theory of communication competence. Based on that there results of this study showed that that (1). Seen from the knowledge: the Bugisnesse (Bugis Ethnics) do understand and comprehend the native language or local dialect that used by their spouse who is not the same ethnic as they are. (2). Seen from the motivation: The 6 married couples informants do getting married with their different-ethnic spouse because they are love each other and not because forced or arranged by their parents. (3). Seen from skills: The Bugisnesse do have communication skills to speak using the local language of their Java-Serangnesse’s spouse, but on the other hand, The Java-Serangnesse do not have the same skills as The Bugisnesse to understand and also comprehend the Bugis ethnics
