Abstrak (Berisi Bastraknya saja, Judul dan Nama Tidak Boleh di Masukan)
The research was carried out to see whether there is a significant improvement in students’ writing ability after students were taught through picture cue in descriptive text. This was a quantitative study with one group pre-test and post- test design. The sample was thirty-one students in class X.10 at senior high school Al-Kautsar Bandar Lampung in the 2023/2024 academic year. This study used test in the form of making a descriptive text as the instrument. The data were collected through pre-test and post-test in the form of written tests. Data results were analyzed using SPSS Version 26, then using a paired sample t-test significant level of 0.05. After researcher analyzed the data, there was significant improvement based on students result in pre-test and post-test. Proven by students pre-test mean score was 68.26, while post-test was 78.45. The gain between pre- test and post-test was 10.19. Moreover, the value of two-tailed signficance was 0.000<0 05, T-value which is -7.693 > T-table 2.042. It means that, H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. The results showed that there was a significant improvement in students writing ability after being taught through picture cue in descriptive text. Therefore, it can be concluded that picture cue is effective to improve students’ ability in writing descriptive text.
