Given a ring R, an additive mapping d : R → R is called an (α, β)-derivation if it satisfies the modified Leibniz rule d(xy) = d(x)α(y) + β(x)d(y), for all x, y ∈ R. This study aims to analyze the properties of (α, β)-derivations on the ring R and the polynomial ring R[x], construct concrete examples of (α, β)-derivations, and examine the relationship between (α, β)-derivations on R and R[x]. The research begins with the characterization of (α, β) -derivations on R and R[x], including the necessary conditions for a mapping to satisfy the (α, β)-derivation property. Subsequently, the relationship between (α, β)-derivations on R and R[x] is analyzed, particularly how the properties of (α, β)-derivations on R influence their structure in the polynomial ring R[x]. Additionally, we provide some examples to illustrate the properties that we obtained. Keywords: ring, polynomial ring, (α, β)-derivation. Diberikan ring R. Suatu pemetaan aditif d : R → R disebut derivasi-(α, β) jika memenuhi aturan Leibniz termodifikasi d(xy) = d(x)α(y) + β(x)d(y), untuk setiap x, y ∈ R. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis sifat-sifat derivasi-(α, β) pada ring R dan ring polinomial R[x], mengonstruksi contoh konkret derivasi-(α, β), serta mengkaji hubungan antara derivasi-(α, β) pada R dan pada R[x]. Penelitian ini diawali dengan karakterisasi derivasi-(α, β) pada R dan R[x], meliputi kondisi yang diperlukan agar suatu pemetaan memenuhi sifat derivasi-(α, β). Kemudian, dianalisis hubungan antara derivasi-(α, β) pada R dan pada R[x], khususnya bagai- mana sifat-sifat derivasi-(α, β) pada R memengaruhi bentuknya dalam ring poli- nomial R[x]. Selain itu, diberikan contoh sebagai ilustrasi yang mendukung hasil-hasil teoritis yang diperoleh. Kata-kata kunci: ring, ring polinomial, derivasi-(α, β).
