Abstrak Bahasa Indonesia : Gosong Susutan merupakan sebuah daratan kecil yang muncul ke permukaan laut di wilayah perairan Teluk Lampung, Kec. Padang Cermin, Kab. Pesawaran, Propinsi Lampung.Gosong Susutan terdiri dari hamparan terumbu karang yang mengelilingi daratan tersebut hingga kedalaman 20 meter. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan Oktober 2014 dengan tiga stasiun pengamatan di Gosong Susutan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemelimpahan plankton dan keanekaragaman terumbu karang di perairan Gosong Susutan. Pengambilan data terumbu karang dilakukan dengan metode LIT (Line Intercept Transect ) sepanjang 100 meter pada kedalaman 5 meter dan 10 meter. Pengambilan sampel plankton dilakukan pada kedalaman 0 meter, 5 meter, dan 10 meter. Analisis data berupa nilai indeks kemelimpahan, keanekaragaman, keseragaman, dan dominansi, serta korelasi antara terumbu karang dan plankton. Dari ketiga stasiun yang diambil sampelnya, jenis plankton yang sering ditemukan adalah Rhizosolenia sp dengan jumlah 216 ekor dan Hemiaulus sp dengan jumlah 58 ekor dari total keseluruhan jumlah plankton, yakni ; 586 ekor. Berdasarkan nilai indeks kemelimpahan plankton di Gosong Susutan termasuk dalam kategori rendah. Sedangkan indeks keseragaman plankton dan terumbu karang menunjukkan bahwa termasuk dalam komunitas ke arah stabil. Sementara indeks dominansi plankton dan terumbu karang di Gosong Susutan termasuk dalam kategori rendah. Hasil pengamatan parameter fisika-kimia menunjukkan bahwa nilai suhu berkisar antara 25-28oC, salinitas 31-32 0/00, pH 6,71-6,73, dan kecerahan 11-13 meter. Korelasi antarapersentase terumbu karang dan kemelimpahan plankton menunjukkan nilai positif. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari nilai koefisien determinasi (R2) = 0,6014 yang menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan positif antara kondisi terumbu karang dengan kemelimpahan plankton dan tergolong korelasi kuat yaitu antara 0,5-0,75. Abstrak Bahasa Inggris : Gosong Susutan is small land that appears to the sea surface in the waters of gulf Lampung : Padang Cermin, Regency of Pesawaran, Lampung Province. This research was conducted on October 2014 with 3 point as research stations surrounding Gosong Susutan that purpose was to determine the abundance of plankton and coral reef diversity of surrounding sea Gosong Susutan. Coral reef data retrieval was done by LIT (Line Intercept Transect) method along 100 meters, at the depth of 5 and 10 meters. Plankton sampling was carried out at a depth of 0 meter, 5 meters, and 10 meters. Analysis of the data was performed for index value of abundance, diversity, uniformity, and dominance, correlation was also made for the relationship between coral reef and plankton. Diversity from the three stations sampled, the planktonis often found is Rhizosolenia sp with the number 216 were the highest abundance and Hemiaulus sp with the number 58 out of the total number of plankton that is 568 individu. Based on the index value of plankton abundance in Gosong Susutan belongs to the category of low to moderate. While uniformity index such as that Gosong Susutan included in the community towards to stable. The dominance index included in the low category. The observation of physical – chemical parameters such as that the value of the temperature range between 25-280C, salinity between 31-32, pH between 6,71-6,73, and visibility between 11-13 meters. The correlation between percentage ofcoral reefs and abundance of plankton such aspositive that can be seen from the value of the coefficient of determination (R2) =0.6014 which relatively strong correlationis between 0.5- 0.75.
