Abstrak (Berisi Bastraknya saja, Judul dan Nama Tidak Boleh di Masukan)
Abstrak Introduksi penggunaan varietas unggul diperlukan untuk meningkatkan produksi Pertanian. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh penggunaan varietas unggul terhadap produksi, keuntungan, dan efisiensi usahatani tomat di Kecamatan Sukau Kabupaten Lampung Barat. Lokasi penelitian ini dipilih secara sengaja (purposive) di Kecamatan Sukau yang merupakan sentra produksi tomat terbesar di Kabupaten Lampung Barat. Jumlah responden 48 orang petani tomat yang diambil dengan menggunakan metode acak sederhana (Simple Random Sampling). Pengumpulan data dilakukan pada bulan Juni dan Juli 2011. Metode analisis yang digunakan untuk menjawab tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu analisis fungsi produksi cobb-douglas, analisis pendapatan dan analisis fungsi keuntungan cobb-douglas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Penggunaan varietas unggul dapat meningkatkan produksi, keuntungan dan efisiensi usahatani tomat di Kecamatan Sukau Kabupaten Lampung Barat. Saran yang dapat diajukan dalam penelitian ini adalah perlunya kerjasama antara pemerintah, petani, dan peneliti dalam sosialisasi penggunakan varietas unggul guna meningkatkan produksi pertanian. Kata Kunci : Varietas unggul, efisiensi, usahatani tomat Abstract An Introduction of high-yielding variety is needed to improve the agricultural production. This research was purposed to study the influence of the high-yielding varieties to the production, profit, and efficiency of tomato farming in Sukau District of West Lampung Regency. The research location was selected purposively in Sukau District, the center of tomato production in West Lampung Regency. Fourty eight respondents of tomato farmers were taken with simple random sampling. Data were collected from June to July 2011. The Analysis methods used to answer the purposes of this research were Cobb-Douglas production function analysis and Cobb-Douglas profit function. The results showed that the use of high-yielding varieties could improve the production, profit, and efficiency of tomato farming in Sukau District of West Lampung Regency. In order to improve production and profit of tomato farming, the use of the high-yielding varieties seed needs to be communicated to the fanners.
