Abstrak Budidaya lebah madu merupakan kegiatan pemanfaatan hasil hutan bukan kayu. Sentra dan pengembangan lebah madu di Lampung Timur ditetapkan di Desa Buana Sakti Kecamatan Batanghari. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui teknik budidaya lebah madu yang dilakukan oleh masyarakat Desa Buana Sakti Kecamatan Batanghari Kabupaten Lampung Timur dan pelaksanaan pada bulan Maret 2012. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan Metode Sensus dengan cara wawancara (Interview) dan observasi lapangan dengan masyarakat petani lebah madu Desa Buana Sakti yang berjumlah 23 responden. Jenis data yang diambil adalah teknik budidaya lebah madu. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa Teknik budidaya lebah madu Apis cerana, Fabr yang dilakukan masyarakat Desa Buana Sakti meliputi penentuan lokasi budidaya, persiapan sarana dan peralatan, penangkapan koloni lebah, budidaya, penanggulangan hama dan penyakit, dan pemanenan lebah madu. Dari 23 petani lebah madu di Desa Buana Sakti, seluruhnya menggunakan gelodog dan hanya 6 petani yang masih menggunakan kotak stup. Teknik pemanenan madu di Desa Buana Sakti dilakukan dengan sistem sunat yaitu hanya memotong sisiran sarang yang berisi madunya saja. Kata Kunci: Lebah Madu dan Teknik Budidaya Lebah Madu. Abstract Honeybee cultivation is a utilization for non-wood forest product. Main region at which honeybee cultivation is decided at East Lampung is located at Buana Sakti Village, a Subdistrict of Batanghari. This objective of this research in to find out the honeybee cultivation technique applied by people at Buana Sakti Village, Subdistrict of Batanghari, Regency of East Lampung and this research was done in March 2012. The data collecting technique was done by using Census Method by interviewing and observing the field of honeybee breeder at Buana Sakti Village with 23 people at its respondent. The kind of data taken was honey bee cultivatng technique done by the people Buana Sakti Village. Based on the research, it is known that the technique of cultivating honeybee Apis cerana, Fabr done by the people at Buana Sakti Village wide-ranges of the determining location for cultivation, preparation of facilities and equipment, gathering the bee colony, the cultivation, tackling diseases and harvesting the honeybee. Of 23 people as respondent at Buana Sakti Village, nearly all people use “gelodog” and only 6 people use “stup boxes” for breeding. Harvesting is done by using “sunat system” by cutting nest strokes containing honey only. Key word: Honeybee, Honeybee Cultivating Technique
