Abstract
The reaserch on the synthesis, characterization, and application of organotin (IV) 4-aminobenzoate derivative compounds as corrosion inhibitor on mild steel type HRP (Hot Roller Plate) in DMSO-HCl corrosive medium has been performed. Diphenyltin(IV) di-4-aminobenzoate and dibutyltin(IV) di-4-aminobenzoate compound have successfully been synthesized. The synthesized compounds were characterized using IR spectrophotometry, UV, NMR, and microelemental analyzer and the activity anticorrosion test was carried using the EA10 potentiostat. The surface analysis of mild steel was performed using a trinoculer microscope. Based on the result of characterization, it has been shown that diphenyltin(IV) di-4-aminobenzoate and dibutytin(IV) di-4-aminobenzoate compound have successfully been synthesized with the presence of functional groups, λmax, and the composition of the element as expected. Diphenyltin(IV) di- 4-aminobenzoate compound was found as a white solid product with a yield of 93.16% and dibutyltin(IV) di-4-aminobenzoate compound as a whitish yellow product with a yield of 87.47%. The results of anticorrosion test showed that the highest inhibiton activity was at concentration of 100 mg / L both compounds tested with the precentage of inhibition efficiency were 40.54 and 37.5%, respectively. Keyword : corrosion inhibition activity, dibutyltin(IV) di 4-aminobenzoate, diphenyltin(IV) di-4-aminobenzoate Telah dilakukan penelitian mengenai sintesis, karakterisasi, dan aplikasi turunan senyawa organotimah(IV) 4-aminobenzoat sebagai inhibitor korosi pada baja lunak tipe HRP (Hot Roller Plat) dalam medium korosif DMSO-HCl. Dilakukan sintesis senyawa difeniltimah(IV) di-4-aminobenzoat dan dibutiltimah(IV) di-4- aminobenzoat. Senyawa hasil sintesis dikarakterisasi menggunakan spektrofotometri IR, UV, NMR, dan microelemental analyzer serta pengujian aktivitas antikorosi menggunakan potensiostat EA10. Analisis permukaan baja dilakukan dengan menggunakan mikroskop Trinokuler. Dari hasil karakterisasi dapat diketahui bahwa senyawa difeniltimah(IV) di-4-aminobenzoat dan dibutiltimah(IV) di-4-aminobenzoat telah berhasil disintesis dengan adanya gugus-gugus fungsi, λmax, dan komposisi unsur dari senyawa yang diharapkan. Senyawa difeniltimah(IV) di-4-aminobenzoat berupa padatan putih keruh dengan rendemen senyawa 93,16 % dan senyawa dibutiltimah(IV) di-4-aminobenzoat berupa padatan berwarna kuning keputihan dengan rendemen senyawa 87,47 %. Hasil pengujian aktivitas antikorosi menunjukkan penghambatan tertinggi masing-masing terjadi pada konsentrasi 100 mg/L oleh senyawa difeniltimah(IV) di-4-aminobenzoat dan senyawa dibutiltimah(IV) di-4-aminobenzoat dengan persen efisiensi inhibisi masing-masing sebesar 40,54 dan 37,5 %. Kata kunci : aktivitas inhibisi korosi, dibutiltimah(IV) di-4-aminobenzoat, difeniltimah(IV) di-4-aminobenzoat.
