The problem in this research is still low yields studying geography at SMA Negeri 1 Sumberejo Tanggamus. This study aims to determine whether the use of Google Earth effective learning media used in knowing the students' ability to understand the map on the material mapping and geographic information systems in class XII SMA Negeri 1 Sumberejo. This study used an experimental method with quasi-experimental design. The population in this study is a class XII student of SMAN 1 Sumberejo IIS school year 2015/2016 a number of 92 students. to define the class that will be used as samples Cluster sampling technique was used to obtain the IIS XII class 2 (experimental class) totaling 29 students and class XII IIS 3 (control class) totaling 30 students. Data were collected using a technique obserfasi, a written test and documentation. Data analysis technique used was t test for two independent samples (Independent Samples T Test) . Tests using a significance level a = 5% or 0.05. If significant value <0.05, there are differences in the average student learning outcomes significantly between media use google earth with conventional media. From the calculation t test using SPSS-17 obtained t value (equal variance assumed) was 2,243. T table determined at a = 5%: 2 = 2.5% with degrees of freedom (df) = n-2 or 59-2 = 57. Therefore, the value of t> t table (2.243> 2.002) and P value (0.019 <0.05), then Ho is rejected and Ha accepted. This can be evidenced from the average post-test results on IIS XII class 2 (experimental group) which is 76.72% higher than the 4.72% class XII IIS 3 (control group) is 72.00%. The results showed that the difference in average ability to understand the map on IIS XII class 2 (experimental grade) using a media google earth with IIS XII class 3 (control group) on the material basics of maps and mapping in SMA Negeri 1 Sumberejo. This is evident from the average post-test results on IIS XII class 2 (experimental group) that is 76.72% higher than the 4.72% class XII IIS 3 (control group) is 72.00%. Keywords: instructional media, media google earth, conventional media, learning outcomes geography ABSTRACT Permasalahan dalam penelitian ini adalah masih rendahnya hasil belajar geografi di SMA Negeri 1 Sumberejo Kabupaten Tanggamus. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbandingan hasil belajar siswa pada materi konsep wilayah dan perwilayahan dengan menggunakan media google earth dan media konvensional di kelas XII SMA Negeri 1 Sumberejo. Penelitian menggunakan metode eksperimen semu dengan bentuk desain kuasieksperimen (quasi-experiment). Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI IIS SMA Negeri 1 Sumberejo tahun ajaran 2015/2016 sejumlah 92 siswa. untuk menentukan kelas yang akan dijadikan sebagai sampel penelitian digunakan teknik Cluster sampling sehingga diperoleh kelas XII IIS 2 (kelas eksperimen) yang berjumlah 29 siswa dan kelas XII IIS 3 (kelas kontrol) yang berjumlah 30 siswa. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan teknik obserfasi, tes tertulis dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah Uji T untuk dua sampel bebas (Independen Sampel T Test). Pengujian menggunakan tingkat signifikansi a=5% atau 0,05. Jika nilai signifikan <0,05 maka ada perbedaan rata-rata hasil belajar siswa yang signifikan antara penggunaan media google earth dengan media konvensional. Dari hasil perhitungan uji t dengan menggunakan program SPSS-17 didapat nilai t hitung (equal variance assumed) adalah 2,243. T table ditentukan pada a = 5% : 2 = 2,5% dengan derajat kebebasan (df) = n-2 atau 59-2 = 57. Oleh karena nilai t hitung > t table (2,243 >2,002 ) dan P value (0,019 < 0,05) maka Ho ditolak dan Ha diterima. Hal ini dapat dibuktikan dari rata-rata hasil post-test pada kelas XII IIS 2 (kelas eksperimen) yaitu 76,72% lebih tinggi 4,72% dibandingkan dengan kelas XII IIS 3 (kelas kontrol) yaitu 72,00%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa adanya perbandingan hasil belajar siswa yang signifikan pada kelas XII IIS 2 (kelas eksperimen) yang menggunakan media google earth dan kelas XII IIS 3 (kelas kontrol) pada materi konsep wilayah dan perwilayahan di SMA Negeri 1 Sumberejo tahun ajaran 2015/2016. Kata Kunci: media pembelajaran, media google earth, media konvensional, hasil belajar geografi.
