Abstrak (Berisi Bastraknya saja, Judul dan Nama Tidak Boleh di Masukan)

PT Bukit Asam (Persero) Tbk is a state-owned company which engages in mining energy such as coals. The main commitment of this company is to be an international standard firm which entails high performance demand. Therefore, this company requires an enhancement in employee competency and foster good relationship with employees. However, according to data in 2015, it shows that the realization of production has reached only around 90.37% compare with target in 2015. This research is aimed to perceive the influence of competency and LMX towards employee performance in PT Bukit Asam (Persero) Tbk Tarahan Port. The analysis technique used is multiple linear regression at the significance level of 5% by using questionnaire as the primary data. The study population is the employees of PT Bukit Asam (Persero) Tbk Tarahan Port which is approximately 310 people. From this population, the sample taken from 165 people is obtained using the Isaac and Michael technique. Moreover, the secondary data is gained from an interview and the annual report of PT Bukit Asam (Persero) Tbk. The outcome of this research partially shows that competency will give a significant positive influence towards employee performance in PT Bukit Asam (Persero) Tbk. On the contrary, LMX shows less positive influence towards the performance. Accordingly, the increase of LMX would only present a minor improvement on the employee performance. The final result of this research will also reveal that the variable of competency and LMX are simultaneously able to explain the 52,5% of performance variable.
