ABSTRAK Latar Belakang: Angka Kematian Bayi (AKB) di Indonesia pada tahun 2015 adalah 22 per 1.000 kelahiran. Salah satu penyebab utama mortalitas neonatus adalah persalinan preterm. Salah satu faktor risiko persalinan preterm adalah penyakit periodontal pada ibu hamil. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan antara riwayat penyakit periodontal terhadap kejadian persalinan preterm di RSUD Abdul Moeloek Bandar Lampung. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan metode analitik observasional dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Sampel penelitian ini adalah pasien pasca persalinan di RSUD Dr. H. Abdul Moeloek pada bulan Oktober – Desember 2016, dengan teknik total sampling. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan mengukur kedalaman kantung periodontal menggunakan dental probe serta interpretasi CPITN. Analisis data dilakukan dengan uji chi square. Hasil Penelitian: Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 78,6% sampel preterm memiliki penyakit periodontal, sedangkan dari sampel persalinan aterm hanya 21,4% yang memiliki penyakit periodontal. Hasil uji chi square menunjukkan adanya hubungan yang bermakna antara penyakit periodontal dengan persalinan preterm (P=0,008). Simpulan: Terdapat hubungan antara riwayat penyakit periodontal terhadap kejadian persalinan preterm. Kata Kunci: persalinan preterm, penyakit periodontal   ABSTRACT Background: At the year of 2015, Infant Mortality Rate (IMR) in Indonesia is 22/1.000 births. One of the main causes of infant mortality is preterm labor. One of risk factors for preterm birth is periodontal disease in pregnant women. The purpose of this study is to determine the relation between the history of periodontal disease on the incidence of preterm labor at Dr. H. Abdul Moeloek Hospital in Bandar Lampung. Method: This study used observational analytic with cross sectional approach. The sample of this study is post-natal care patients in Dr. H. Abdul Moeloek Hospital on October-December 2016, with total sampling technique. This study was done by measuring the pocket periodontal depth with dental probe and was interpreted by using CPITN. The analysis for this study was done by using chi square test. Results: The results showed that 78,6% of preterm birth patients have periodontal disease, while from the aterm birth patients is only 21,4% who have periodontal disease. Chi-square test results showed a significant relation between periodontal disease and preterm delivery (P=0,008). Conclusion: There is a relation between the history of periodontal disease on the incidence of preterm birth. Keywords: preterm labor, periodontal disease
