Abstrak (Berisi Bastraknya saja, Judul dan Nama Tidak Boleh di Masukan)

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan mendeskripsikan kondisi sosial dan ekonomi di Desa Kotabaru Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Teknik penentuan informan dalam penelitian ini adalah teknik purposive sehingga informan dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 9 orang yaitu pemilik kebun gaharu dan buruh kebun gaharu. Gaharu (Aquilaria Malaccensis Lank) adalah salah satu jenis tanaman hutan yang memiliki mutu sangat baik dengan nilai ekonomi yang tinggi karena kayunya mengandung resin ini dikenal dengan nama gaharu. Kondisi sosial ekonomi masyarakat Desa Kotabaru Barat Hasil penelitian diperoleh: 1) Kondisi sosial pekebun gaharu antar keluarga bertetangga bisa dikatakan baik akan tetapi terkadang masih saja yang mempunyai sifat iri maka masih belum stabil, teknis melalui observasi dan wawancara mendalam terhadap komunikasi masyarakat Desa Kotabaru Barat sehari-hari disela-sela bekerja sebagai buruh kebun . 2) Kondisi ekonomi pekebun gaharu belum dikatakan optimal dengan jumlah yang menentu karena harus menunggu hasil panen yang cukup lama agar keliatan hasilnya melalui proses pertumbuhan pohon sampai saat tiba panen raya sekitar 3-5 tahun bahkan sampai 10 tahun jika menggunakan pertumbuhan alami tanpa suntikan, teknis melalui observasi dan wwancara mendalam kepada pemilik kebun yang ada di Desa Kotabaru Barat. Kata kunci: Kondisi sosial ekonomi, pekebun, gaharu abstract This research aims to determine and describe the social and economic conditions in the West Kota Baru village. This research uses qualitative method with case study approach. The election of the informants used a purposive technique which generates nine informants, that is the owner of Agarwood Plantation and the labor of Agarwood plantation. Agarwood (Aquilariamalaccensis lank)is a kind of jungle plants having a very high quality and high economic value, because the stem contains a resin namely Gaharu. The results were obtained: 1) The social conditions in the environment around the Agarwood planters is quite good, however, sometimes there are still jealousy people which leads to unstable conditions. This research was done by using direct observation and depth interview to the daily communication of villagers who work as labor of Agarwood plantation. 2) The economic conditions of Agarwood planters are not optimal yet, because the waiting time of harvesting is quite long, that is for the plasticity of the results through the tree-growth process until harvest time isapproximately 3-5 years even 10 years if it uses the natural growth without injection.This research was done by using direct observation and depth interview to the owner of Agarwood plantation in West Kota Baru Village.
