Abstrak (Berisi Bastraknya saja, Judul dan Nama Tidak Boleh di Masukan)
The objective of this research was to find out whether there is any improvement of students’ writing ability of recount text after being taught through clustering technique. This research was basically quantitative research which used one group pretest-posttest design. The population of this research was the second grade students of SMAN 13 Bandar Lampung in the academic year 2016/2017. The sample of this research was X MIPA 3 which consisted of 31 students. The instrument of this study was recount text test. The data were analyzed by using repeated measure t-test in which the significance was determined by p<0.05. The result of the research showed that t-value was higher than t-table (19.747>2.042) and the value of significant level was 0.00<0.05. The mean score of posttest (78.61) was higher than the pretest (58.00) and the gain was 20.61. It means that there was an improvement in the students’ recount text writing ability after being taught using clustering technique. Briefly, referring to the result above, it can be said that clustering technique can be applicable to improve students’ ability in writing recount text.
