ABSTRACT USE ENQUIRY SOCIAL LEARNING MODEL FOR IMPROVING SELF-CONCEPT AND CRITICAL THINKING OF STUDENT CLASS XI IPS 1 ON HISTORY SUBJECT IN SMAN 2 MENGGALA By IMA SURI The purpose of this study is to see 1) Implementation stages Learning Model of Social Enquiry on the subjects of history 2) Improved self-concept and critical thinking of students with the use of Social Enquiry learning model. Social Enquiry learning stages consisting of the orientation phase, to formulate the problem, formulate hypotheses, collect information, test hypotheses and make conclusions. Improved self-concept and critical thinking students will be seen from kesiklus cycle through the stages of a Class Action Research. Each cycle consists of four phases: planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The object of this study is the Social Enquiry Learning Model to increase the ability of critical thinking and selfconcept of students. Data collection tool is observation and tests. This study shows 1) Social Enquiry Learning Model can be applied to the subject of history 2) The use of Social Enquiry learning model can improve self-concept and critical thinking students. Improved self-concept students observed based on the observation during the implementation process of learning by using social Enquiry Learning Model in cycle I, II and III, whereas the increase in the students' critical thinking known from the results of tests on each end of the cycle. Keywords: Class Action Research, Social Enquiry Learning Model, self-concept of students and the ability to think critically ABSTRAK PENGUNAAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN INQUIRI SOSIAL UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KONSEP DIRI DAN BERFIKIR KRITIS SISWA KELAS XI IPS 1 PADA MATA PELAJARAN SEJARAH DI SMA NEGERI 2 MENGGALA Oleh IMA SURI Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat 1) Pelaksanaan tahapan Model Pembelajaran Inquiri Sosial pada mata pelajaran sejarah 2) Peningkatan konsep diri dan berfikir kritis siswa dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran Inquiri Sosial. Tahapan pembelajaran Inquiri Sosial terdiri atas tahap orientasi, merumuskan masalah, merumuskan hipotesis, mengumpulkan informasi, menguji hipotesis dan membuat kesimpulan. Peningkatan konsep diri dan berfikir kritis siswa akan dilihat dari siklus kesiklus melalui tahapan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas. Setiap siklus terdiri atas 4 tahapan yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi dan refleksi. Objek penelitian ini adalah Model Pembelajaran Inquiri Sosial terhadap peningkatan kemampuan berfikir kritis dan konsep diri siswa. Alat pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi dan tes. Penelitian ini menunjukan 1) Model Pembelajaran Inquiri Sosial dapat diterapkan pada mata pelajaran sejarah 2) Penggunaan Model pembelajaran Inquiri Sosial dapat meningkatkan konsep diri dan berfikir kritis siswa. Peningkatan konsep diri siswa diamati berdasarkan hasil observasi selama proses pelaksanaan pembelajaran dengan menggunakan Model Pembelajaran Inquiri sosial baik pada siklus I, II dan III, sedangkan peningkatan berfikir kritis siswa diketahui dari hasil tes pada setiap akhir siklus. Kata Kunci : Penelitian Tindakan Kelas, Model Pembelajaran Inquiri Sosial, konsep diri siswa dan kemampuan berfikir kritis
