Abstrak (Berisi Bastraknya saja, Judul dan Nama Tidak Boleh di Masukan)

UKPM Teknokra adalah wadah kegiatan kampus bagi mahasiswa Universitas Lampung yang memiliki minat dan bakat di bidang jurnalistik sekaligus media informasi di lingkungan kampus Universitas Lampung yang produknya adalah majalah, tabloid dan berita online. Tabloid Teknokra sebagai pers kampus mempublikasikan berita tentang Rektor Universitas Lampung Prof. Sugeng P. Harianto, M.S., sosok kepimpinan yang tercermin dalam berbagai kebijakannya, sikap dan tindakan rektor merupakan bahan berita yang sering dimuat oleh media kampus. Isi pemberitaan berupa pujian atau kritik tentang kebijakan rektor, yang berarti ada berita yang mengarah pada berita positif atau negatif. Hal ini menjadi menarik ketika sumber pendanaan Teknokra berasal dari Universitas Lampung. Sehingga berdampak pada pemberitaan mengenai kepemimpinan rektor Universitas Lampung Prof. Sugeng P. Harianto, M.S. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana framing tabloid Teknokra dalam memberitakan karakter kepemimpinan Rektor Universitas Lampung periode September 2011 - Desember 2015 Prof. Sugeng P. Harianto, M.S. Tipe Penelitian ini bersifat deskriptif kualitatif dengan model analisis framing Zhongdang Pan dan Gerald M. Kosicki. Selama periode September 2011 - Desember 2015 terdapat enam terbitan dengan delapan berita sebagai berita yang diteliti. Hal ini diperkuat dengan wawancara kepada pihak Teknokra yaitu pimpinan redaksi, redaktur serta wartawan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Teknokra menggambarkan tiga karakter kepemimpinan Rektor Universitas Lampung Prof. Sugeng P. Harianto, M.S. Karakter kepemimpinan tersebut adalah otoriter, ditandai dengan bertindak tidak sesuai aturan, menyalahgunakan kekuasaan, kebijakan dibuat pimpinan, banyak kritikan, menggunakan paksaan serta kaku dalam bersikap. Karakter kendali bebas ditandai dengan pemimpin bersifat pasif, hanya menentukan kebijaksanaan dan tujuan umum, serta lebih memberi pekerjaan dan arahan pada bawahannya. Sedangkan karakter kepemimpinan demokrasi ditandai dengan kerjasama atasan bawahan untuk meningkatkan mutu kerja, suasana saling percaya, menghargai dan bawahan bermoral tinggi. Penggambaran ketiga karakter tersebut diberitakan sesuai dengan situasi dan fakta sebenarnya. Kata kunci : analisis framing, Teknokra, tipe kepemimpinan ANALYSIS OF NEWS FRAMING REGARDING RECTOR LEADERSHIP UNIVERSITY OF LAMPUNG PERIOD 2011-2015 ON CAMPUS PRESS RELEASE UNIVERSITY OF LAMPUNG (STUDY AT UKPM TEKNOKRA PERIOD SEPTEMBER 2011-DECEMBER 2015) UKPM Teknokra is a campus activities for students of Lampung University who have interests and talents in the field of journalism as well as a medium of information in Lampung University whose products are magazines, tabloids and online news. Tabloid Teknokra as the campus press publish news about the Rector University of Lampung Prof. Sugeng P. Harianto, M.S., a leadership figure reflected in various him policies, attitudes and actions of the rector is a news material often publish by the campus press. The contents of the news there is a praise or criticism about the policy of the rector, which means there is news that leads on positive or negative news. This becomes interesting when the source of funding Teknokra comes from the University of Lampung. So that impact on the news about the leadership of the rector University of Lampung Prof. Sugeng P. Harianto, M.S. The purpose of this study is to find out how is framing of the Tabloid Teknokra in reporting the leadership character of the Rector University of Lampung during period of September 2011 - December 2015 Prof. Sugeng P. Harianto, M.S. The type of research is descriptive qualitative with framing analysis model of Zhongdang Pan and Gerald M. Kosicki. During the period September 2011 - December 2015 there are six publications with eight news for the research. Reinforced by interviews to the Teknokra chief editor, editor and journalist. The results of this study indicate that Teknokra describes the three leadership characters of the Rector University of Lampung. Prof. Sugeng P. Harianto, M.S. Leadership character is authoritarian, characterized by unconstitutional act, abuse of power, policy made leadership, a lot of criticism, using coercion and rigid in attitude. The character of free control is characterized by a passive leader, determining only general wisdom and goals, and giving more work and direction to his worker. Then the character of democratic leadership is characterized by the cooperation of superiors to subordinates to improve the quality of work, atmosphere of mutual trust, respect and subordinates high moral.
