ABSTRACT This research and development has purpose to develop learning materials in form of hand-out. Finding out the benefit, the ease, the advisability, and analyzing the effectiveness of the learning materials to foster the students’ learning outcome. The type of this research is Research and Development which referred to Borg and Gall theory. The population of this research included 255 students of grade IV in Radin Intan II area, Way Tuba, Way Kanan. The samples of this research grade students of SD N 01 Suma Mukti as before and also as after used the learning materials. The researcher gave questionnaire to get data about the benefit, the ease, and the advisability of the teaching learning materials. And, the researcher also gave test to assess the effectiveness of the materials by using T-Test. The result of this research was appropriate with the hypothesis, namely: 1) Materialized the learning materials based on Discovery Learning which can be applied in the teaching and learning process; 2) The learning materials have fully benefit, ease, and advisability which shown by the teachers’ positive responses; 3) The learning materials are effective, it can be seen from the students’ learning outcomes in before and after used the learning materials. Keywords: learning materials, discovery learning, students’ learning outcomes. ABSTRAK Penelitian dan pengembangan ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan bahan ajar berbasis discovery learning berupa handout. Mengetahui kemanfaatan, kemudahan dan kelayakan bahan ajar, serta menganalisis efektifitas bahan ajar dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian dan pengembangan, yang merujuk pada teori Borg and Gall. Populasi penelitian ini adalah 255 siswa kelas IV SD sedabin Raden Intan II, kecamatan Way Tuba Kabupaten Way Kanan. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IV SDN 01 Suma Mukti sebagai kelas sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan bahan ajar. Data diperoleh melalui lembar angket kemanfaatan, kemudahan dan kelayakan, serta soal tes. Uji efektifitas penelitian dengan menggunakan uji t. Hasil yang diperoleh dalam penelitian ini sesuai dengan hipotesis yang dibuat, yaitu: 1) Terwujudnya bahan ajar berbasis discovery learning yang dapat digunakan dalam pembelajaran. 2) Bahan ajar ini memiliki kemanfaatan, kemudahan dan kelayakan dilihat dari respon guru yang positif. 3) Bahan ajar ini dinyatakan efektif, dilihat dari peningkatan hasil belajar sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan bahan ajar. Kata kunci: bahan ajar, discovery learning, hasil belajar siswa.
