Abstrak (Berisi Bastraknya saja, Judul dan Nama Tidak Boleh di Masukan)

Penelitian eksperimen semu ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah penerapan pendekatan Realistic Mathematics Education dapat meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII SMPN 8 Bandar Lampung tahun pelajaran 2013-2014 yang terdistribusi dalam sebelas kelas. Dengan teknik purposive sampling, dipilih siswa kelas VII F dan VII G sebagai sampel. Data penelitian diperoleh melalui tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa dengan pendekatan Realistic Mathematics Education lebih tinggi dari pembelajaran konvensional. Dengan demikian, disimpulkan bahwa pendekatan Realistic Mathematics Education dapat meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa. Kata kunci: konvensional, pemecahan masalah matematis, realistic mathematics education This quasi experimental research aimed to know whether the implementation of the Realistic Mathematics Education approach could increase student’s mathematical problem solving skill. The population of this research was all students of grade 7th of SMPN 8 Bandar Lampung in academic year of 2013/2014 that was distributed into eleven classes. By purposive sampling technique, it was chosen students of VII F and VII G class as samples. The research data were obtained by the test of mathematical problem solving skill. The result of research analysis showed that the increasing of student's mathematical problem solving skill with the Realistic Mathematics Education approach was higher than conventional learning. Thus, it can be concluded that the Realistic Mathematics Education approach could increase the student's mathematical problem solving skill.
