Abstrak (Berisi Bastraknya saja, Judul dan Nama Tidak Boleh di Masukan)
The aimed of this research was to know to learn and explain how the ways and strategy of politic executive to manipulate the religious symbol in atribute, banner, photos, and religious activity form. This research used qualitative method. Data colecting techniq used deep interview, observation and documentation. Data analyses techniq used reduction, presentation, and verification data. Research result showed that politic executive used religious issue as manipulating tools to politic impotance, and to get authority by contestation. Religious symbol that used is religious symbol, using religious atributes and religious activity. Manipulation form as religious symbol used to build a symbol, religious symbol used to increase simpaty and supported from society, it was for political communication and as to political manipulation. The power of religious symbol as the main of culture to be able to influence the society point of view that used by politic executive to get sympaty and support to send information about photo, avtivity and atribute to manipulate at contestation to face government election of Lampung. Key words: religious symbol, authority, politic executive, and kontestation Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji dan menjelaskan bagaimana cara, dan strategi elit politik memanipulasi simbol agama dalam atribut, banner (spanduk), foto dan dalam bentuk kegiataan agama. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah wawancara mendalam, observasi (pengamatan), dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data reduksi data, display (penyajian data) dan verifikasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan elit politik mengunakan isu agama sebagai alat manipulasi untuk kepentingan politik, dan untuk mendapatkan kekuasaan lewat kontestasi. Simbol agama yang digunakan yaitu: Gelar keagamaan, Penggunaan atribut keagamaan dan kegiatan keagamaan. Bentuk manipulasi simbol agama diantarannya yaitu simbol agama digunakan sebagai alat untuk membangun pencitraan, simbol agama sebagai alat menarik simpati, dukungan massa, simbol agama sebagai alat komunikasi politik, dan simbol agama sebagai alat manipulasi politik. Kekuataan simbol agama (the power of religius symbol) sebagai inti dari kebudayaan dapat mempengaruhi pandangan masyarakat yang dimanfaatkan oleh elit politik untuk mendapatkan simpati dan dukungan (the power of banner) sebagai media penyampaian informasi yang di dalamnya memuat foto, kegiatan, serta atribut sebagai media penyampaian manipulasi simbol agama pada kontestasi menyongsong Pilgub Lampung.
