Islamic Centre Bandar Lampung adalah salah satu tempat kegiatan umat muslim di Bandar Lampung. Islamic Centre Bandar Lampung selain berfungsi sebagai tempat ibadah umat muslim juga berfungsi sebagai asrama haji pada saat bulan haji. Berdasarkan kondisi ini, Islamic Centre Bandar Lampung harus menyediakan banyak air untuk sanitasi dan berwudhu. Pada saat ini dan untuk waktu yang akan datang, Islamic Centre Bandar Lampung akan mengalami kekurangan air karena banyaknya jumlah kebutuhan konsumsi air untuk sanitasi dan berwudhu. Di sisi lain, pemanfaatan air hujan di Islamic Centre Bandar Lampung belum digunakan sebagai alternatif untuk sumber air bersih. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui daya dukung air hujan sebagai sumber air alternatif untuk sanitasi dan wudhu di Islamic Centre Bandar Lampung. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Islamic Centre Bandar Lampung, Rajabasa, Bandar Lampung. Data kebutuhan air diperoleh dengan wawancara langsung kepada pengurus Islamic Centre Bandar Lampung . Data curah hujan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah data curah hujan harian stasiun Kemiling selama 3 tahun (2004-2006). Atap-atap Islamic Centre Bandar Lampung digunakan sebagai daerah tangkapan hujan untuk menampung air hujan kemudian dialirkan ke tampungan yang telah direncanakan. Untuk mengetahui efisiensi tampungan digunakan simulasi harian dengan empat alternatif tampungan yang masing-masing mempunyai volume 250, 500, 750, dan 1000 m3. Simulasi menunjukkan bahwa penyimpanan dengan dimensi 10 m x 10 m x 2 m sebanyak 4 buah adalah penyimpanan yang paling efisien untuk menampung air hujan di daerah tersebut. Untuk membangun satu instalasi pemanenan air hujan dibutuhkan biaya Rp. 781.000.000,- Kata kunci: air hujan, penyediaan air alternatif, sanitasi dan wudhu, Islamic Centre Bandar Lampung Abstract Bahasa Inggris Islamic Centre of Bandar Lampung is one place for Muslims activities in Bandar Lampung. It functions as a place for Muslims to pray and also serves as a dormitory at the time of Hajj pilgrimage departure. Based on this condition, the centre has to provide abundant of water for sanitation and water ablution for the people. In the recent days and the future, Islamic Centre of Bandar Lampung will experience water shortages due to the amount of water consumption for sanitation and ablution. On the other hand, rainwater falling on that area has not been used as an alternative for freshwater source yet. Therefore, this study aims to investigate the supporting capacity of rain water as an alternative water source for sanitation and ablution in the Islamic Centre of Bandar Lampung. The research was conducted at the Islamic Centre of Bandar Lampung, at Rajabasa, Bandar Lampung. Data of water demand is obtained by direct observation for the amount of water used for sanitation and ablution in the field. Rainfall data used in this study is daily rainfall data for 3 years (2004-2006) recorded in Kemiling station due to its completeness of data. Catchment area for rainwater harvesting is derived from the roof condition of Islamic Centre of Bandar Lampung. Daily simulation is operated using four alternatives of storage dimensions which are 250, 500, 750, and 1000 m3, respectively. The simulations shows that four unit rain water harvesting storages with dimension of 10 m x 10 m x 2 m, is the most efficient storage for rainwater harvesting in the area. Bill of quantity analysis for the structure is also calculated. The analysis stated that the cost of the building is Rp. 781 000 000, -.
