Abstract
abstact inggris The research aims to describe conversion the function of sidewalk along the road Z.A. Pagar Alam Kota Bandar Lampung in 2013. The focus of study is the ability of merchants hire shop-house, the land area of sidewalk which turns into a place of commerce functions, the type of street vendors, and the perception of traders in using the sidewalk. The Research method is surveying. The research object is conversion the function of sidewalk turns into a place of commerce along the road. The research subject are 56 street vendors who use the sidewalk. The technique of collecting data done with the observations, interview, questionnaire, and documentation. The technique of data analysis using percentage The results show that the ( 1 ) 87,5% street vendors who uses the sidewalk in the category of capable of being rent shop-house, ( 2 ) an area of land sidewalk transformed into places of commerce functions only of 251,9 m2 or 1,6% of the land area wholly amounting to 15.840 m2, (3) Street vendors along the sidewalk was dominated by meals traders of 83,9%, (4) 89,3% traders have the perception that the location on the sidewalk worth strategic, (5) trade activity on the sidewalk have changed appropriate the time that began in the morning (07.00-11.59 WIB) as many as 42,9%, during the day (12.00-14.59 WIB) increased to 53,6%, in the afternoon (15.00-17.59 WIB) to become 100%, and the evening (18.00-01.59 WIB) fell to 80,4%. Key words: conversion the function of, sidewalks, and street vendors.
