Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mempelajari kinerja usaha penggemukan sapi potong Haji Sony,mengidentifikasikan faktor internal dan faktor eksternal sapi potong Haji Sony, dan merumuskan strategi pengembangan usaha penggemukan sapi potong Haji Sony. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di peternakan Haji Sony Kecamatan Jati Agung Kabupaten Lampung Selatan dengan menggunakan metode study kasus. Responden dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari pemilik, mandor, penanggung jawab kandang peternakan Haji Sony. Metode kuantitatif kinerja yang ditentukan adalah pertumbuhan harian hidup sapi (ADG) dan pendapatan. Metode kualitatif merumuskan strategi yang ditentukan adalah analisis SWOT. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kinerja pada peternakan sapi potong Haji Sony secara keseluruhan dalam kategori sudah baik. Usaha penggemukan sapi potong memiliki produktivitas rata-rata pertumbuhan harian hidup sapi (ADG) jenis Peranakan Ongole (PO) sebesar 0,8 kg/ekor/hari dan jenis sapi Brahman Cross sebesar 1,3 kg/ekor/hari. Present Value pendapatan tertinggi peternakan Haji Sony dicapai pada tahun 2012 yaitu sebesar Rp 32.173.881.083,73 dan total R/C adalah 2,26. Strategi prioritas yang digunakan untuk pengembangan peternakan sapi potong Haji Sony yaitu : (a) menghasilkan produk berkualitas yang memiliki sedikit kadar lemak (b) membuat pembukuan untuk memaksimalkan penggunaan modal dan (c) mengadakan pelatihan untuk menghasilkan tenaga kerja yang berkualitas Kata Kunci : Analisis SWOT, Kinerja , sapi potong ABSTRACT- BAHASA INGGRIS This research aims to analyze the performance of Haji Sony Feedlot business; to identify the internal and external factors of the business, and to formulate its development strategy. The research is conducted at Haji Sony cow farm in Jati Agung sub district, South Lampung Regency by using a case study methodology. The respondents in this research are the owner, supervisors, workers in charge of stables of Haji Sony farm. Quantitative methods to determine the performance are Average Daily Growth (ADG) and Income. Qualitative method to formulate strategy is SWOT analysis. The results of this research showed that the whole performance on Haji Sony Feedlot business is in a good category. The ADG of Ongole species is 0.8 kg/cow/day and the ADG of Brahman Cross Species is 1.3 kg/cow/day. The highest income present value of Haji Sony farm business in 2012 reached Rp 32,173,881,083.73 per year with value of 2.26. The priority strategies taken to develop the business are: (a) producing less fat quality beef (b) creating a bookkeeping to maximize the use of capital, and (c) training to create qualified workers.
