Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan respon siswa terhadap proses pembelajaran Learning by Doing di SMP Islam Terpadu Fitrah Insani Bandar Lampung yang memfokuskan penelitian tentang pembelajaran yang disertai dengan salah satu metode permainan dalam Learning by Doing yaitu bola melingkar. Tipe penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan metode pengumpulan data observasi dan wawancara mendalam. Teknik analisa data dilakukan dengan cara reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Dari hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa memberikan respon positif terhadap proses pembelajaran Learning by Doing bola melingkar yang dilaksanakan di kelasnya. Learning by Doing menjadikan siswa lebih aktif dan lebih cepat menghapal materi yang disampaikan guru mereka. Konsep pembelajaran bola melingkar dilaksanakan di akhir jam pelajaran dan menjadi penutup dari pelaksanaan proses pembelajaran. Alasan diterapkannya permainan bola melingkar tersebut untuk memfasilitasi siswa menjadi lebih aktif dan untuk mengatasi kebosanan siswa terkait materi yang disampaikan. Hambatan dalam pelaksanaan Learning by Doing bola melingkar yaitu kurangnya guru secara kualitas yang mampu untuk menerapkan model pembelajaran Learning by Doing tersebut, serta terkendalanya waktu dalam pelaksanaan Learning by Doing yang membutuhkan waktu relatif panjang untuk menjelaskan materi dan praktik permainan kepada siswa. This research explains the students’ response toward Learning by Doing process in Integrated Islamic School Fitrah Insani. This research focuses on learning process which applies circular ball method. This method is one of game methods of Learning by Doing. This research is a qualitative type. This type of research utilizes observation and depth interviews as data research method. Researcher analyzes the data by means of data reduction, data presentation, and then draws the conclusion. This study showed that student responded positively to the circular ball method. Learning by Doing stimulates student for being more active still they memorize the lesson more rapidly. Circular ball is held in the final session of the lesson. It puts an end to all sessions of the learning process. Circular ball facilitates student become more active. Moreover this method conquers student’s boredom related to the lesson. The obstacle of this process implementation is the lack of teachers’ quality. Furthermore this learning model requires a relatively long time to explain the material and practice of the game to the students.
