Abstract
Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengkaji pertumbuhan populasi Spirulina sp., pada kultur skala laboratorium dalam media limbah pendederan kerapu bebek (Cromileptes altivelis). Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan empat perlakuan dan tiga ulangan, yaitu perlakuan A (100%), B (75%), C (50%) dan D (25%) limbah pendederan kerapu bebek sebagai media kultur. Parameter yang dihitung meliputi kepadatan populasi Spirulina sp., nitrat, ortofosfat, pH, suhu, salinitas dan intensitas cahaya. Data parameter nitrat, ortofosfat dan kepadatan populasi Spirulina sp., diuji menggunakan analysis of variance (anova) dengan tingkat kepercayaan 95% dan hasil yang berbeda nyata diuji lanjut menggunakan uji beda nyata terkecil (BNT). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemanfaatan limbah pendederan kerapu bebek (Cromileptes altivelis) pada konsenrasi 25% berpengaruh signifikan terhadap pertumbuhan populasi Spirulina sp., pada kultur skala laboratorium. Kata Kunci: Kerapu bebek, limbah, nitrat, ortofosfat, Spirulina sp. The aim of this study was to examine the growth of Spirulina sp., population using humpback grouper (Cromileptes altivelis) cultivation waste in laboratory scale culture. The research design used was a completely randomized design (CRD) with four treatments and three replications, that is treatment A (100%), B (75%), C (50%) and D (25%) humpback grouper waste as culture medium. The parameters observed included the population density of Spirulina sp., nitrate, orthophosphate, temperature, salinity, pH and light intensity. The parameter data of nitrate, orthophosphate and population density of Spirulina sp. were tested using analysis of variance (anova) at 95% and continued least significance different (LSD). The results showed that the utilization of humpback grouper (Cromileptes altivelis) waste at 25% concentration affect significantly influence on the growth of Spirulina sp., population in the laboratory scale culture (2,66 x 106 ind/mL).
