Abstract

Dimetil eter (DME) is one of the chemical industry products used as raw material for chemical industry, explosive dimetil sulfat ((CH3)2SO4), dimetil sulfit (C2H6S), asam asetat (CH3COOH) dan formaldehid (CH2O). On the Manufacturing of Dimetil eter was selected direct synthesis process that is more profitable in terms of economics and thermodynamics than other processes. This Plant is meant to produce 15.000 tons/year with operation time 24 hours/day and 330 days on a year. This Plant is planned to be built in Batakan, Kalimantan Timur. The bussines entity form of this plant is Limited Liability Company (Ltd) using line and staff organizational structure with 177 labors. From the economic analysis, it is obtained that : Fixed Capital Investment (FCI) = Rp 211.595.041.983,1770 Working Capital Investment (WCI) = Rp 39.829.654.961,5391 Total Capital Investment (TCI) = Rp 251.424.696.944,7160 Break Even Point (BEP) = 44,34% Pay Out Time before taxes (POT)b = 2,11 years Pay Out Time after taxes (POT)a = 2,51 years Rate on investment after taxes (ROI)a = 25,11% Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) = 25,44% Shut Down Point (SDP) = 21,02% Consider the summary above, it is proper establishment of Dimetil eter Plant is studied further, because the plant is profitable and has good prospects
