Abstrak (Berisi Bastraknya saja, Judul dan Nama Tidak Boleh di Masukan)

Pupuk organik granul merupakan pupuk yang sebagian atau seluruhnya berasal dari bahan-bahan organik yang berbentuk butiran padat. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui karakteristik fisik dari pupuk organik granul yang dihasilkan dan mendapatkan jenis perekat yang paling optimal untuk pembuatan pupuk organik granul. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Bioproses dan Pasca Panen serta Laboratorium Daya dan Alat Mesin Pertanian Jurusan Teknik Pertanian, Universitas Lampung. Rancangan penelitian ini menggunakan RAK faktorial dan dilakukan tiga kali ulangan. Faktor pertama terdiri dari dua taraf yaitu tanah liat dan tepung tapioka. Faktor kedua yaitu persentase perekat yang terdiri dari tiga taraf yaitu 5%, 8%, 11%. Ukuran tiap unit percobaan yaitu 4 kg. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tanah liat dengan persentase 11% merupakan perekat yang paling optimal untuk pembuatan pupuk organik granul dan menunjukkan kecenderungan semakin tinggi persentase bahan perekat maka nilai bulk density (densitas kamba), durabilitas, dan waktu hancur pupuk organik granul semakin tinggi. Hasil uji sidik ragam menunjukkan bahwa jenis perekat dan persentase perekat berpengaruh nyata pada nilai persentase ukuran granul (2-5 mm) dan waktu dispersi. Granular organic fertilizer is a fertilizer that is partially or completely derived from organic materials in the form of dense granules. The objectives of this research were to determine the physical characteristics of granule organic fertilizers produced and to get the most optimal type of adhesives for the manufacture of granule organic fertilizer. This research was conducted at the Bioprocess and Post Harvest Laboratory and also atPower and Agricultural Machinery Laboratory, Department of Agricultural Engineering, Lampung University.The design of this study used Randomized Complete Block (RCB) with factorial arrangement and three replications. The first factor consisted of two levels : clay and starch. The second factor were the percentage of the adhesives materials : 5%, 8%, 11%. Each experimental unit weighted 4 kg raw materials of the organic fertilizer. The results showed that 11% of clay is the most optimal adhesive for making granular organic fertilizers. Higher percentage of adhesives materials tended to increase bulk density, durability, water absorption, and dispersion time of the granular organic fertilizer. However, statistically the type of adhesives materials and their persentage had significant effect only on percentage of granule size for 2-5 mm and dispersion time.
