Film dokumenter Sexy Killers menarik perhatian banyak pihak. Pasalnya, film ini mengulas dampak dari pertambangan dan PLTU batu bara mulai dari hulu sampai ke hilir serta aktor dan elit yang terlibat, baik dari kalangan politisi maupun pengusaha khususnya yang berhubungan dengan Pemilihan Umum Calon Presiden dan Wakil Presiden 2019. Film dokumenter merupakan bagian dari film yang memiliki fungsi pendidikan dan kontrol sosial. Film dokumenter menitikberatkan pada fakta atau peristiwa yang terjadi. Film dokumenter sebagai aktifisme media ini untuk mendorong media yang demokratis dan progresif, artinya secara politik, ekonomi, sosial, budaya, atau bidang lainnya menjadi lebih adil. Relasi pengusaha dan penguasa (elite nasional) yang ditampilkan dalam film ini memiliki kecenderungan menjalankan praktik oligarki dan mengajak penonton untuk berpikir kembali tentang keadaan objektif di Indonesia. Oligarki merupakan sebuah proses dari tatanan politik sejumlah individu yang memiliki, mempertahankan kekuasaan dan kekayaan oleh pelaku yang memiliki sumberdaya material. Mempertahankan kekayaan oleh oligarki mencakup tantangan dan kapasitas tertentu yang tidak dimiliki dalam bentuk dominasi atau eksklusif minoritas lain. Dengan pendekatan model Analisis Wacana Kritis Teun Van Dijk, penelitian ini coba mendeskripsikan tiga aspek. Pertama, memahami wacana terkait praktik oligarki pada film dokumenter Sexy Killers. Kedua, mendeskripsikan kognisi sosial pembuat teks/film (kreator). Dan ketiga, mendeskripsikan konteks sosial yang terjadi dalam masyarakat saat produksi film atau reproduksi peristiwa. Kata Kunci: Film Dokumenter, Aktivisme Media, Sexy Killers, Oligarki, Analisis Wacana Kritis The Sexy Killers documentary film attracted the attention of many parties. The reason is, this film reviews the impact of mining and coal power plants from upstream to downstream as well as actors and elites involved, both from politicians and businessmen, especially those related to the 2019 Presidential and Vice Presidential Candidate General Election. Documentary films are part of films that have the function of education and social control. Documentary films focus on facts or events that occurred. Documentary films as media activism are to encourage democratic and progressive media, meaning that politically, economically, socially, culturally, or other fields become more just. The relationship between businessmen and rulers (national elite) shown in this film has a tendency towards oligarchic practices and invites the audience to think about the objective situation in Indonesia. Oligarchy is a process of the political order of a number of individuals who have, maintain power and wealth by actors who have material resources. Maintaining wealth by oligarchs includes certain challenges and capacities that other minorities do not have in the form of domination or exclusion. Using Teun Van Dijk's Critical Discourse Analysis model approach, this study tries to describe three aspects. First, understand the discourse related to the practice of oligarchy in the Sexy Killers documentary film. Second, describe the social cognition of the text/film maker (creator). And the third, describe the social context that occurs in society during film production or reproduction of event.
