ABSTRACT FARMERS' PERCEPTIONS OF THE GRAFTING SYSTEM AND PRODUCTIVITY OF ROBUSTA COFFEE IN DEMPO UTARA DISTRICT, PAGAR ALAM CITY SOUTH SUMATERA PROVINCE By Mirna Nanda Novita Grafting coffee is one of the rejuvenation activities on unproductive plants to become productive with the aim of increasing production. This study aims to determine: 1) coffee farmers' perceptions of the grafting system in coffee cultivation, 2) coffee productivity produced before and after the grafting system in coffee cultivation, 3) factors related to farmers' perceptions on the Grafting system (continued) in coffee cultivation, 4) the relationship between coffee farmers' perceptions of the Grafting system (continued) and coffee production, 5) the relationship between coffee farmers' perceptions of the Grafting system (continued) and coffee farming income. This research was conducted in North Dempo District, Pagar Alam City, South Sumatra Province. This study is a quantitative study with a sample of 64 coffee farmers determined by the formula for determining the sample (Sugiarto, 2003). The research data collection was carried out from March to April 2022. The method used was a survey method. Research data were analyzed descriptively, parametric statistics, and nonparametric statistics. The results of this study stated that: 1) coffee farmers' perceptions of the grafting system in coffee cultivation were classified as quite good, 2) there was a significant difference in productivity from before applying the grafting system, which was 618 kg/ha and after applying the grafting system, which was 1.479 kg/ha, 3) the factors that are significantly related to the perception of coffee farmers on the grafting system in coffee cultivation are the length of farming and the availability of entres, while age, education level, farmer knowledge, farmer social interaction and ownership status are not significantly related, 4) coffee farmers perception on the grafting system is not significantly related to the production of coffee farming, 5) Coffee farmers' perception of the grafting system is not significantly related to coffee farming income. Keywords: Perception, Productivity, Coffee Grafting System Penyambungan (Grafting) kopi merupakan salah satu kegiatan peremajaan pada tanaman tidak produktif menjadi produktif dengan tujuan meningkatkan produksi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui : 1) persepsi petani kopi terhadap sistem Grafting dalam budidaya kopi, 2) produktivitas kopi yang dihasilkan dari sebelum dan sesudah sistem Grafting dalam bubidaya kopi, 3) faktor-faktor yang berhubungan dengan persepsi petani terhadap sistem Grafting dalam budidaya kopi, 4) hubungan antara persepsi petani kopi terhadap sistem Grafting dengan produksi kopi, 5) hubungan antara persepsi petani kopi terhadap sistem Grafting dengan pendapatan usahatani kopi. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Kecamatan Dempo Utara, Kota Pagar Alam, Provinsi Sumatera Selatan. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 64 orang petani kopi yang ditentukan oleh rumus penentuan sampel (Sugiarto,2003). Pengambilan data penelitian dilaksanakan dari bulan Maret sampai April 2022. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode survei. Data penelitian dianalisis secara deskriptif , statistika parametrik, dan statistika non parametrik. Hasil penelitian ini menyatakan bahwa : 1) persepsi petani kopi terhadap sistem grafting pada budidaya tanaman kopi termasuk kedalam klasifikasi cukup baik, 2) terdapat perbedaan produktivitas yang signifikan dari sebelum menerapkan sistem grafting yakni sebesar 618 kg/ha dan setelah menerapkan sistem grafting yakni sebesar 1.479 kg/ha, 3) faktor-faktor yang berhubungan nyata dengan persepsi petani kopi terhadap sistem grafting dalam budidaya tanaman kopi adalah lama berusahatani dan ketersediaan entres, sedangkan umur, tingkat pendidikan, pengetahuan petani, interaksi sosial petani dan status kepemilikan tidak berhubungan nyata, 4) persepsi petani kopi terhadap sistem grafting tidak berhubungan nyata dengan produksi usahatani kopi, 5) persepsi petani kopi terhadap sistem grafting tidak berhubungan nyata dengan pendapatan usahatani kopi.
