Pasca peristiwa G30S/PKI yang terjadi pada tahun 1965 pemerintah mengeluarkan Keputusan yang membahas mengenai pembubaran semua organisasi terlarang di wilayah Republik Indonesia. Setelah keluarnya keputusan tersebut Pemerintah yang dibantu oleh Masyarakat bergerak untuk menghancurkan segala gerakan dan oknum-oknum PKI yang menyebabkan terjadinya peristiwa G30S/PKI. Akibat hal tersebut para pimpinan-pimpinan PKI yang tidak tertangkap akhirnya melarikan diri diberbagai daerah salah satunya didaerah Blitar Selatan. Rumusan Masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah 1). Apakah latar belang Operasi Trisula 2). Bagaimanakah strategi yang dilakukan dalam pelaksanaan Operasi Trisula 3). Bagaimanakah akhir dari Operasi Trisula dalam penumpasan PKI di Blitar Selatan tahun 1968. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui mengenai Penumpasan PKI Blitar Selatan melalui Operasi Trisula Tahun 1968. Dalam penelitian ini menggunakan Metode Historis, dimana menggunakan empat langkah penelitian : Heuristik, Kritik, Interpretasi, dan Historiografi Teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu teknik analisis data historis, kegiatan diawali dengan proses pengumpulan data, kritik sumber yang kemudian dikaitkan dengan teori serta metode-metode sejarah dan kemudian menjadi sebuah fakta sejarah. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa dalam melakukan penumpasan PKI di Blitar Selatan ini Kodam Brawijaya VIII yang diwakili oleh satgas Trisula menggunakan tiga strategi operasi yakini, Operasi Tempur, Operasi Teritorial, dan Operasi Intel. Atas strategi operasi yang digunakan serta dukungan Pemerintah Sipil juga dibantu Masyarakat Satgas Trisula berhasil meraih kemenangan. Selain membersihkan daerah Blitar Selatan dari jerat PKI Militer bersama Pemerintah daerah Blitar juga melakukan pembinaan wilayah yang tujuannya adalah untuk membebaskan Blitar Selatan dari jerat kemiskinan dan keterbelakangan ilmu. As a result of this, pki leaders who were not caught finally fled in various areas, one of which was in the South Blitar area. The Problem Formulation in this study is 1). Is the background of Trisula Operation 2). How is the strategy carried out in the implementation of Trisula Operation 3). How did Trisula Operation end in the PKI crackdown on South Blitar in 1968. The purpose of this study was to find out about the Crackdown of the South Blitar PKI through Trisula Operation in 1968. In this study using Historical Methods, which uses four research steps: Heuristics, Criticism, Interpretation, and Historiography The data analysis techniques used are historical data analysis techniques, activities begin with the process of collecting data, source criticism which is then associated with historical theories and methods and then become a historical fact. The results of this study showed that in carrying out the PKI crackdown in South Blitar, Kodam Brawijaya VIII was represented by the Trident task force using three reliable operation strategies, Combat Operations, Territorial Operations, and Intel Operations. For the operation strategy used and the support of the Civil Government was also assisted by the Trident Task Force Society to win. In addition to cleaning the South Blitar area from the snares of the Military PKI together with the Blitar regional government also conducted regional development whose purpose was to free South Blitar from the snares of poverty and underdevelopment of knowledge.
