Suku Karo saat ini tidak hanya berdomisili di Tanah Karo tetapi juga sudah tersebar ke seluruh penjuru tanah air di Indonesia, seperti di Lampung. Etnis Batak Karo memiliki adat sopan santun dalam berkomunikasi baik secara verbal maupun non verbal disebut dengan Rebu.Rebu arti-nya tidak boleh berkomunikasi secara langsung, dilarang atau tidak dibenarkan melakukan sesuatu dengan orang yang direbukan. Namun, tradisi Rebu khusus nya di Tanjung Senang Bandar Lampung mengalami perubahan pelaksanaan Tradisi Rebu. Hal ini disebabkan oleh beberapa faktor. Rumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah apa sajakah faktor faktor penyebab berubah nya pelaksanaan Tradisi Rebu pada masyarakat Batak Karo Kecamatan Tanjung Senang Kota Bandar Lampung?. Tujuan penelitian dalam penulisan ini adalah untuk mengetahui faktor faktor penyebab berubahnya pelaksanaan Tradisi Rebu pada masyarakat Batak Karo Kecamatan Tanjung Senang Kota Bandar Lampung. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif yaitu dengan penelitian yang sistematik untuk pengambilan data berupa fakta yang menghasilkan gambaran-gambaran berupa kata baik lisan maupun tulisan dari beberapa objek yang sedang diamati. Seperti faktor faktor penyebab berubahnya pelaksanaan Tradisi Rebu pada masyarakat Batak Karo di Tanjung Senang Kota Bandar Lampung. Teknik pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini yaitu wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi serta kepustakaan. Teknik analisis data pada pada penelitian ini yaitu teknis analisis data kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa masyarakat Batak Karo di Tanjung Senang Kota Bandar Lampung dalam pelaksanaan Tradisi Rebu tidak lagi sepenuhnya menjalankan seperti Tradisi Rebu pada awalnya. Dari hasil penelitian tersebut, penulis menyimpulkan bahwa faktor faktor-faktor penyebab berubahnya pelaksanaan Tradisi Rebu pada masyarakat Batak Karo di Tanjung Senang Kota Bandar Lampung adalah faktor lingkungan tempat tinggal, faktor pemahaman, faktor perkawinan antar suku, faktor ekonomi, dan faktor modernisasi, sedangkan untuk faktor yang paling berpengaruh adalah faktor lingkungan tempat tinggal dan faktor modernisasi. Kata Kunci : Rebu, Kekerabatan, Masyarakat Batak Karo Currently, the Karo tribe do not only live in Tanah Karo but also spread to all corners of the country in Indonesia, such as in Lampung. The Karo Batak ethnic has a custom of politeness in communicating both verbally and non-verbally called Rebu. Rebu which means that they are not allowed to communicate directly, are prohibited or not allowed to do anything with people who are captured. However, the Rebu tradition, especially in Tanjung Senang, Bandar Lampung, underwent a change in the implementation of the Rebu Tradition. This is caused by several factors. The formulation of the problem in this study is what are the factors causing the change in the implementation of the Rebu Tradition in the Batak Karo community, Tanjung Glad District, Bandar Lampung City?. The purpose of research in this paper is to determine the factors that cause changes in the implementation of the Rebu Tradition in the Karo Batak people, Tanjung Senang District, Bandar Lampung City. The method used in this study is a descriptive method, namely by systematic research for data collection in the form of facts that produce images in the form of words, both spoken and written, from several objects being observed. Such as the factors causing the change in the implementation of the Rebu Tradition in the Karo Batak community in Tanjung Senang, Bandar Lampung City. Data collection techniques in this study are interviews, observation and documentation as well as literature. The data analysis technique in this study is the technical analysis of qualitative data. The results showed that the Karo Batak community in Tanjung Senang, Bandar Lampung City in the implementation of the Rebu Tradition no longer fully carried out the Rebu Tradition at first. From the results of this study, the authors conclude that the factors that cause changes in the implementation of the Rebu Tradition in the Karo Batak community in Tanjung Senang, Bandar Lampung City are living environment factor, community understanding factor, interethnic marriage factor, economic factor and modernization factor, while for the most influential factors are environment factors and modernization factors.
