Abstrak (Berisi Bastraknya saja, Judul dan Nama Tidak Boleh di Masukan)

Tugas akhir ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana sistem pengolahan bahan pustaka untuk temu kembali informasi oleh mahasiswa di ruang baca Jurusan Ilmu Komunikasi FISIP Universitas Lampung serta kendala yang dihadapi pemustaka dalam melakukan temu kembali informasi di Ruang Baca Jurusan Ilmu Komunikasi FISIP Universitas Lampung. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif. Sementara metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan pada saat melaksanakan pengamatan yaitu menggunakan metode wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sistem pengolahan bahan pustaka di Ruang Baca Jurusan Ilmu Komunikasi FISIP Universitas Lampung sudah di lakukan dengan baik, dalam mengolah maupun pelayanan sudah menggunakan sistem otomasi berupa aplikasi Slims. Dari hasil penelitian jugaditemukan adanya kekurangan Pustakawan atau Karyawan serta sarana penunjang seperti komputer dan printer yang kemudian menyebabkan efektifitas dan efisiensi pengolahan bahan pustaka kurang dilakukan dengan maksimal. Kata kunci: Sistem Pengolahan Pustaka, Bahan Pustaka, Perpustakaan, Ruang Baca ABSTRACT This final project aims to determine how the processing system of library materials for information retrieval by students in the Reading Room of the Department of Communication Sciences FISIP University of Lampung and the obstacles faced by users in conducting information retrieval in the Reading Room of the Department of Communication Sciences FISIP University of Lampung. The research methods used in this study using qualitative methods. While the method of data collection used at the time of carrying out the observation is using the method of interview, observation and documentation. The results showed that the processing system of library materials in the Reading Room of the Department of Communication Sciences FISIP University of Lampung has been done well, in processing and service has been using an automation system in the form of Slims application. From the results of the study also found a shortage of librarians or employees as well as supporting facilities such as computers and printers which then led to the effectiveness and efficiency of processing library materials less done with the maximum.
