Abstract

Untuk menyuburkan tanaman para UMKM (Usaha Mikro Kecil Menengah) memerlukan pupuk sebagai media agar tanaman dapat tumbuh dengan subur. Dan alternatif lain yang dipakai adalah menggunakan bahan baku dari batubara. Batubara mengandung kadar karbon yang tinggi yakni 69%, hidrogen 5,5%, oksigen 25%, nitrogen 0,5%, difosfor pentaoksida 0,04%, dan kalium oksida 36% yang baik untuk segala jenis tanaman. Pencampuran batubara sebagai komponen pupuk adalah dengan cara batubara dihaluskan sehingga mencapai kehalusan dengan ukuran 65 mesh, maka dirancanglah sebuah alat yaitu mesin bola penghancur (ball mill). Mesin bola penghancur (ball mill) adalah salah satu jenis mesin penggiling yang digunakan untuk menggiling suatu bahan material menjadi serbuk yang sangat halus. Mesin penggiling ini banyak digunakan pada usaha rumahan, dunia industri, dan pabrik. Contoh bahan baku produksi yang biasa dilakukan penggilingan yaitu beras, pembuatan semen, tatal dan lain-lain. Kata kunci : Pupuk, batubara, mesin bola penghancur (ball mill). To fertilize plants, UMKM (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises) need fertilizer as a medium so that plants can thrive. And another alternative that is used is to use raw materials from coal. Coal contains high levels of carbon, namely 69%, 5.5% hydrogen, 25% oxygen, 0.5% nitrogen, 0.04% diphosphorus pentaoxide, and 36% potassium oxide which is good for all types of plants. Mixing coal as a fertilizer component is by pulverizing the coal so that it reaches a fineness with a size of 65 mesh, so a tool is designed, namely a ball mill. A ball mill is a type of grinding machine used to grind a material into a very fine powder. This grinding machine is widely used in home businesses, industry, and factories. Examples of production raw materials that are usually milled are rice, cement, tatal and others. Keywords : Fertilizer, coal, ball mill.
