Malachite green merupakan senyawa berbahaya yang sering ditemukan dalam limbah industri yang dapat mencemari perairan dan membahayakan lingkungan. Untuk mengatasi masalah ini, berbagai metode telah dikembangkan untuk menghilangkan limbah malachite green dari air, salah satunya membran PIM. Penelitian mengenai transpor malachite green telah dilakukan menggunakan metode Polymer Inclusion Membrane (PIM) dengan carrier copoly-eugenol divinil benzena (Co-EDVB) 6%. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui optimasi membran PIM dengan senyawa pembawa Co-EDVB 6% dengan mempelajari pengaruh pH malachite green pada fasa sumber, konsentrasi HNO3 pada fasa penerima, ketebalan membran, konsentrasi senyawa pembawa dan waktu transpor malachite green, serta mempelajari kompetisi transpor malachite green pada limbah buatan. Membran PIM dibuat dengan melarutkan senyawa pembawa Co-EDVB 6%, polivinil klorida (PVC) dan dibenzil eter (DBE) ke dalam pelarut tetrahidrofuran (THF). Konsentrasi malachite green setelah transpor ditentukan dengan metode spektrofotometri UV-Vis dan absorbansinya diukur pada panjang gelombang λ=617 nm. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa membran PIM dengan senyawa pembawa Co-EDVB 6% dapat mentranspor malachite green secara efektif sebesar 90,53% pada kondisi optimum; pH fasa sumber 8, konsentrasi fasa penerima 0,50 M, ketebalan membran PIM T54, konsentrasi senyawa pembawa 0,04 M, dan waktu transpor 18 jam. Membran PIM sebelum dan setelah transpor dikarakterisasi menggunakan FT-IR dan SEM. Transpor malachite green dengan logam Pb(II) dan Cu(II) menghasilkan konsentrasi malachite green yang tetranspor lebih kecil dibandingkan transpor malachite green tanpa logam. Keberadaan logam kompetitor mengakibatkan adanya gangguan terhadap proses transpor malachite green dari fasa sumber ke fasa penerima. Malachite green is a dangerous compound that is often found in industrial waste which can pollute waters and endanger the environment. To overcome this problem, various methods have been developed to remove malachite green waste from water, one of which is the PIM membrane. Research on malachite green transport has been carried out using the Polymer Inclusion Membrane (PIM) method with 6% copoly-eugenol divinyl benzene (Co-EDVB) as a carrier. This research aims to determine the optimization of PIM membranes with 6% Co- EDVB as a carrier compound by studying the effect of malachite green pH in the source phase, HNO3 concentration in the receiving phase, membrane thickness, carrier compound concentration and malachite green transport time, as well as studying malachite green transport competition on artificial waste. The PIM membrane was made by dissolving the carrier compound Co-EDVB 6%, polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and dibenzyl ether (DBE) into tetrahydrofuran (THF) solvent. The concentration of malachite green after transport was determined using the UV-Vis spectrophotometric method and the absorbance was measured at a wavelength of λ=617 nm. The results showed that the PIM membrane with 6% Co-EDVB carrier compound could effectively transport malachite green by 90.53% under optimum conditions; source phase pH 8, receiver phase concentration 0.50 M, PIM membrane thickness T54, carrier compound concentration 0.04 M, and transport time 18 hours. The PIM membrane before and after transport was characterized using FT-IR and SEM. Transport of malachite green with Pb(II) and Cu(II) metals produces a smaller concentration of malachite green transport compared to transport of malachite green without metal. The presence of competing metals causes interference with the malachite green transport process from the source phase to the recipient phase.
