Abstrak (Berisi Bastraknya saja, Judul dan Nama Tidak Boleh di Masukan)
Abstract. The objectives of this research were to find out whether there was any improvement of the students’ writing performance in narrative text after they have been taught by using animated short movie and to investigate which aspect of the students’ writing performance improved the most after they have been taught by using animated short movie. This research was a quantitative research. The design used was one group pretest and posttest because the students’ writing performance was measured in one group of participants before and after the treatments were administered. The participants of the research were 34 students at the first grade of SMK Swadhipa 2 Natar academic year 2023/2024. The instrument was a writing test in form of essay. The data were in form of scores taken from the pretest and posttest and were analyzed by using Paired Sample T-test. The result showed there was a statistically improvement of students’ writing skill in narrative text viewed from the pretest score to the posttest score (68.41 to 74.85) after they have been taught by animated short movie. The aspect of writing that improved the most was organization. This is because the sequential flow of events in the animated short movie generally helps students understand the chronological order of a story. It proves that using animated short movie as a media is effective to improve the students’ writing performance on narrative text. Keywords: Animated short movie, Narrative Text, Writing.
