Abstrak (Berisi Bastraknya saja, Judul dan Nama Tidak Boleh di Masukan)
Kuau raja (Argusianus argus) termasuk dalam burung dalam kategori rentan dan dilindungi. Kuau raja memiliki tempat yang digunakan untuk melakukan aktivitas yang disebut dengan dancing ground, lokasi ini ditemukan dibawah tegakan hutan yang cenderung bersih dan aman dari gangguan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kondisi vegetasi dan variabel lingkungan, aktivitas harian, dan pengaruh vegetasi dan variabel lingkungan terhadap aktivitas harian kuau raja di dancing ground. Penelitian ini berlokasi di Stasiun Penelitian Way Canguk, Taman Nasional Bukit Barisan Selatan pada Bulan Desember 2023–Januari 2024. Pengumpulan data aktivitas harian menggunakan kamera jebak, pengumpulan data vegetasi dan variabel lingkungan dilakukan didalam petak contoh analisis vegetasi di dancing ground, dengan analisis data vegetasi dengan menentukan INP, analisis pengaruh dilakukan menggunakan regresi linear berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat 6 dancing ground pada lokasi penelitian. Analisis vegetasi pada masing-masing dancing ground didapatkan nilai INP yang berbeda-beda pada tingkat pertumbuhan (pohon, tiang, pancang, semai). Rata-rata variabel lingkungan pada keenam dancing ground yaitu suhu (28,56°C), kelembaban (91,86%), intensitas cahaya matahari (2224,6), tutupan kanopi pohon 2 densio, dan ketebalan seresah (5,58 cm). Aktivitas harian kuau raja yang terekam pada kamera jebak terdiri dari menelisik, berjalan, makan, menari, bersuara, bertengger, dan istirahat. Analisis regresi menunjukkan terdapat variabel yang berpengaruh yaitu curah hujan yang menunjukkan bahwa curah hujan naik maka aktivitas harian akan turun, begitupun sebaliknya. Kata Kunci: Kuau Raja, Aktivitas Harian, Dancing Ground iii ABSTRACT THE INFLUENCE OF VEGETATION IN THE DANCING GROUND ON THE DAILY ACTIVITIES OF THE GREAT ARGUS (Argusianus argus) AT WAY CANGUK RESEARCH STATION, BUKIT BARIAN SELATAN NATIONAL PARK By YUNIKA RAHMAWATI The great argus (Argusianus argus) is included in the vulnerable and protected categories of birds. The great argus has a place that is used to carry out activities called the dancing ground. This location is found under relatively clean forest stands, namely in habitat that has not been disturbed. This research aims to analyze vegetation conditions and environmental variables, daily activities, and the influence of vegetation and environmental variables on the daily activities of the great argus at the dancing ground. This research was located at the Way Canguk Research Station, Bukit Barisan Selatan National Park in December 2023–January 2024. Daily activity data collection used camera traps, vegetation data collection and environmental variables were carried out in vegetation analysis sample plots at dancing ground, with vegetation data analysis by determining the INP, influence analysis is carried out using multiple linear regression. The research results showed that there were 6 dancing grounds at the research location. Analysis of the vegetation at each dancing ground found different INP values at growth levels (trees, poles, saplings, seedlings). The average environmental variables in the six dancing grounds are temperature (28.56°C), humidity (91.86%), sunlight intensity (2224.6), tree canopy cover 2 densio, and litter thickness (5.58 cm). The daily activities of the great argus recorded on camera traps consist of eating, searching, walking, dancing, vocalizing, perching and resting. Regression analysis shows that there is an influential variable, namely rainfall, which shows that if rainfall increases, daily activity will decrease, and vice versa.
